I thought I was the only one who saw it, in my opinion solving the over reliance on Hazard on the wings is more important that working on central issues. Especially with UCL footy coming soon getting a quality non cup tied player is the best move.

 

That Ii can definitely agree with, Champions League is very important and getting a none cup tied player right now would definitely be a bonus for us this season.

18 month loan is such a high risk-low reward for us.

He either greatly develops and Fiorentina consider him a steal at €17M and we lose his gained value, or he is mediocre/bad and Fiorentina pass on him so we're left trying to find a buyer for a player with diminished value.

 

I'd imagine if even Mohmad Salah had been given that much chance that Willian has got he would have done better.

what about using Schurrle on the right instead of Willian?

At least he's more direct with his running and I think he's even faster

Nah Schurrle doesn't seem to be too effective in right like he looks in left.

FIorentina are playing against roma tonight live on bt sports, so might give that a watch and see what the hype is about. I've never seen him live.

Good level of opposition tonight as well with it being vs roma. Should be good. 

If Salah and Schurrle are gone by summer permanently, Cuadrado would be a good purchase IF we can't land Reus. Reus is first choice and if that doesn't work, then Cuadrado. 

 

With Salah and Schurrle hopefully also gon,e it opens up a spot for a player like Thorgan Hazard to come back from loan. More or less replacing Schurrle with Reus and Salah with T.Hazard in which both replacements are MUCH better options than what we have now

Forget about Reus.

He's looking good so far. Likes to take on his man by the looks of it, has decent dribbling skills and seems to draw a foul almost always, as well as moving across the front line evading his marker/s well. I would much rather this guy than the other one we're supposedly after.

Just objective spots from tonight's game:

Played behind Mario Gomez

Made many purposeful runs behind the defence. Something Cesc would love. Some smart movement on occasion

Was on defensive duty for attacking corners.

Started in the 10 position but drifted out wide often.

Always looked to take-on his man

Looked very comfortable with the ball at his feet. Good touch and sharp skills.

He was fouled quite a bit after some clever play and use of his body.

Pressed players on the ball very well in 2nd half. Visibly upset at the lack of support in pressing on occasion.

Played a couple of neat through balls.

So do we think if Schurrle and Salah go this window, then 2 come in.  Or just 1? Would make sense to bring in 2 given Jose's "my squad is small" quotes
