Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea .... Done!

Featured Replies

Over 50% of his games he contributes to a goal. That's very good, especially when you compare it to willians 1 goal 1 assist from 21 league games this yr.

He takes the penalties. Or did the other night when I watched him

What a sh*t pointless transfer this is, what's the point in having two willians? Should of given schurrle more time work with him and reevaluate at the end of the season when dourtmond were reportedly waiting til.

He isn't world class and isn't better than we have so what's the point? If reus is already committed to somewhere else then I can maybe understand this transfer but if not why have we not thrown everything we have and risked waiting till summer to get him? If reus is going somewhere else I only seeing it being Madrid and if so someone's going to be leaving and I'd take any of the unwanted players from there, including isco. Really disappointed by this transfer to me shows me where we're at in terms of buying big names and world class talent. He might be ok might be decent but he won't be reus

He's shown an ability to contribute to goals more than Willian though, although I would personally be happier with us keeping Schurrle and selling Willian. That can't happen though.

I do think he makes us a better team though and that's what a transfer should do isn't it? You may want us to sign Reus but the links to him are tenuous and he's also cup-tied in the CL. Cuadrado could make us a stronger contender for a number of trophies by upgrading us in a position where we've been a bit weak this season.

How about holding fire and giving the lad some support?

From season 12/13 onwards:

All competitions- 106 app, 26 goals, 21 assists

League alone- 85 app, 20 goals, 18 assists

From season 13/14 onwards

All competitions- 66 app, 21 goals, 14 assists

League alone- 49 app, 15 goals, 11 assists

Considering he's spent most of the season playing behind the striker, i.e not his best postion, I would say thats a pretty good return.

I think he will be a good signing based on what I've seen, whether he's worth this much or should be replacing Schurrle is another question however.

Also, while Serie A might be a weaker league, the average goals per game has been less than the premier league for each of the last 5 seasons.

Since 13/14:

Fiorentina avg goals/ league game - 1.603

Chelsea avg goals/ league game - 2.03

Cuadrado goal/assist every 148.65 mins

Willian goal/assist every 264.35 mins

Schurrle goal/assist every 176.76 mins

I'm a fan of Schurrle's and would have liked to see us persevere with him until the end of the season. He's the best finisher that we have out of our AM's and I still think he could be deadly for us in the CL away from on the counter attack this season. But if he wants to go then fair enough, especially if the reports are correct that Wolfsburg are willing to pay £30m. Cuadrado could give us that added spark that we've been lacking off the bench at times this season.

Falcao is the obvious one, but this is his first season. It's great we have another south American flag. I remember a time when we only had africans and Europeans at the club, so this is a nice change for us, and hopefully the start of good things to come in our relationship with south Americans.

But if Schurrle goes, we're going to need another German. Wouldn't mind a Hummels, Gundogan or Reus on the cheap.

Gotta start looking for an Englishman I think.

Antonio Valencia and Enner Valencia for columbians in the PL. Asprilla and Rodallega also springs to mind.

Christ, you are right. No idea how i messed that up.

Always thought they were columbians for some reason.
