Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea .... Done!

Why despair? If a player chooses Real over us theres not a lot we can do about it, and Reus is in a position to basically name his club and price. Other than kidnap him theres not much we can do.

What I mean is if we get rid of Schurrle only to bring in Cuadrado then I despair. I don't think he's any better than Schurrle and that we should only be looking to offload Schurrle to accomodate for somebody as good as Reus.

I also don't think Reus would choose Madrid over us. His favoured position is where Ronaldo plays, his other positions are taken up by Bale and Rodriguez and I can't see him budging any of those three. I personally reckon Madrid will be going all out for Pogba, not reus.

Could happen.

RM are us unpredictable as it gets and have no qualms making room by selling Galacticos to buy more Galacticos. Di Maria was probably their MVP last season and the tossed him aside to make room for James. I doubt they will hesitate to do the same if Reus is on their radar. It just means another player on their squad will be available, like Robben, Sneijder, Van de Vaart, and Ozil in the past...

Exactly that, Madrid Presidents curry favour by bringing in the shiniest players, and selling their (better?) players on. It doesn't matter if they are better, or have players in their position. And though I would love to see players picking us over them, if were honest that very very rarely will happen.

I agree, but I'm talking about Reus' personal choice. He'd be guaranteed a key role in Chelsea's line up. Then again common sense often goes out the window when big money is involved, however we're not exactly short of that either.

Hazard was happy enough to chose us over the other multiple clubs after him, don't see why it's unrealistic Reus would be!

He already has a few German teammates their so he won't have a hard time adjusting and you can bet RM will make room for him. He is 10x better than James who in my opinion isn't even as good as Di Maria. He may have a lot of people to beat but Reus has more than enough quality to compete, especially since CR7 plays more of a central/free role for RM these days and will probably continue to as he gets older.

Thats why patience is better then buying a player from a lesser league with average stats. Both Arsenal and Chelsea benefited from this madness last summer with Sanchez and Fabregas. Real will probably change some players anyways, but I think the same thing is true for Bayern and Barcelona as well if they don't do well in CL.

Think a lot of you are underestimating cuadrado, he's better than Willian and Schurrle and it's probable that Schurrle and Salah will be off. I'd be happy with Cuadrado coming in, Schurrle and Salah leaving and keeping Thorgan Hazard here next season.

Am a bit torn on him tbh. Ive seen him turn in some mind shattering performances, were he looks like an absolute superstar in the making and I think he would fit perfectly on our RW. Then he just goes on the fritz and completely disappear for several games in a stretch and I find myself thinking how overrated he is.

I think his end product is a lot better and more consistant then Willians, but then again, Gervinho looks to have elite end product playing in Italy so theres that.

Serie A does have a way of making attackers look better than they are.

Reports that he's at the game, although I haven't seen a picture yet. That said he's a pretty distinctive-looking bloke so there's a very good chance this is just made up.

Have we ever had a Colombian at Chelsea? If not Its about time.

Mutu.....oh hang on.

Damn you fc....

Regular player, not better than willian or schurrle so dont understand why we want to buy him, schurrle should get more play time, rotation is non existant this season yet we have a good squad with good players who can come in and give the first teamers a rest

I agree -- this seems like it would be a curiously sideways move.  Could it be that Mourinho just doesn't like Schurrle?

Cuadrado is actually a wingback for Fiorentina in their 3-5-2/3-4-3 formation. Unless we plan to switch formation to accomodate him, I don't see much the point in signing him. I know our right wing is lacking but I'd rather Willian and Schurrle than Cuadrado. Cuadrado is a good player with workrate, pace, decent crossing, and good feet but he doesn't differ much from Willian. It'd be a weird transfer if we sign him.

“Today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reiterates that Jose Mourinho is personally backing a move for the 26-year-old. Whilst the player is bound by a buy-out clause of €35m, the English club are apparently hoping to bring him home for less than that, as the publication reports a potential offer of €27m.”
