Eva Carneiro

Mrs Fester is a doctor and reckons if it comes out she had a relationship with a patient (one of the players) she could end up in major professional doo-doo with the General Medical Council (GMC - doctors regulatory body).

On which basis I'm surprised she's let it go to court.

Also on that basis, it would seem highly likely she did not have a relationship with her patients.

TELL ME TO GET ANGRY YOU c**t~!!!

Anyway, I feel bad for her.  SHe was treated poorly by Jose, she went to Social media in what was more a token gesture than anything and possibly her most foolish move, and now she's being accused of cheating with players (but brings her husband with her?) and being called a money grabbing "bit*h"

It's all a bit much folks.  Reel it in a little.  This is out of any of our control; she is probably going through extreme emotional and mental duress, and her entire future could be at stake here.

At what point did I try and make one look worse than the other? They're both equally horrible. I just don't understand why g3.7 decided to bring racism into a discussion in which it was nowhere near relevant. It was nonsensical and highly irritating. It seemed to me as though g3.7 was trying to paint members of this forum as racists.

I think it's highly disgusting that someone would try and score some cheap points in an argument by resorting to the use of racially abusive slurs.  Doubly so when racism wasn't even part of the discussion as it clearly shows there was no place and context, outside of the mind of the poster, to use such harmful language.

Anyways, he obviously chose to get an extreme reaction to his point about misogyny because it distracts from the fact he has called out "top top misogyny" without showing a single shred of evidence ( I know this because there is no "because" in his post, something that very poster felt was essential to proving a point).  Perhaps the poster doesn't understand that misogyny is the hatred (or dislike) of women/girls and NOT the hatred/dislike of an individual who happens to be a woman/girl.

That someone calls her a "money grabbing bitch" proves misogyny no more than someone saying "money grabbing prick" proves misandry.  It's funny because I bet there is a plethora of statements like that related to male footballers through out this forum, yet I doubt this poster never once called out "top top misandry".  Oh, that tangled webs we weave.

But, when you have a stance that can't satisfy the argument logically, you create a post that tries to do it emotionally.....even if it resorts to using disgusting racially abusive language that is probably illegal in the home state of  most posters.  Sad that some might view this as enlightened thinking.

I dislike Eva does that make me a misogynist? To dislike a woman is now to be misogynist, is that it? To bring racism into this is disgusting. Even if misogyny is occurring in this forum, is that now the same as racism? Put your brain in gear before you post from now on, okay?

you're welcome to dislike carneiro. I'm interested to know why you dislike her, but I'm not saying that fact makes you a misogynist in itself.

I'm saying there are some extremely depressing (IMO) views being aired on this forum (in particular on this thread) and I find it especially disappointing because the people who are outing themselves seem to think it is completely acceptable.

I'm drawing a comparison- why is it unacceptable to these people to, for example, call marcel desailly a "lazy thick n*gger" but acceptable to call carneiro a b*tch or a slut?

both cases are examples of hateful discrimination.

but I think that in this case the prejudice goes beyond terms or words. the entire tone and way the conversation is being framed saddens me.

I also find it curious that so many people here who have been eager to speculate about her sex life also spent a huge deal of time defending JT. "it's his private life and no business of anyone else's". "it's only an unproven tabloid rumour". "this stuff is for hello magazine readers".

they must've forgotten about that.

p.s. I make no apology for the use of the word "n*gger" in my previous post (or indeed in this one) and I absolutely will not be doing so either. I'm happy to explain it though if anyone feels it is necessary. if the police turn up at your door with a warrant feel free to email me a copy and I'll take care of it.

oh and barry. I felt a little bad about embarassing you in the other thread however having read some of your views on this issue I'm actually coming to the conclusion that you're quite a nasty person.

From the times,

"José Mourinho, Chelsea football club’s former manager, will be able to avoid giving evidence in Eva Carneiro’s claim for constructive dismissal and sex discrimination by paying a £1,000 fine."

Top top misogyny in here.

If she were black we could call her a n*gger too.

Shame she isn't. Seems a wasted opportunity. Although I heard a completely unsubstantiated rumour about her parentage...

I understand the point you are making, but the use of that word is excessive and highly unnecessary.

He was just trying to be controversial with a strong opinion as usual, it's just that he's like José and Chelsea this season - horribly out of form.

You have totally misunderstood what G3.7 was saying.

I think everyone is letting their imagination get in the way here.

How people can call Carneiro publicity seeking I don't understand, she neither made a statement nor posed for pictures. She is trying to get a settlement for what she believes is being put in a position where she was no longer able to go back to work at the club for whatever reasons. I think claims that she was sleeping with a player are both stupid and disrespectful, she is newly married and if she had a relationship with a player she would have very little case for constructive dismissal as she would have broken one of the major rules for a doctor.

It is interesting her barrister is one of the leading medical law barristers and that would lead me to assume the club were questioning Carneiro's competence (maybe Mourinho's comments to the media). Otherwise I would have expected she would have an expert in employment law.

I don't really understand the hatred towards her from all the fans who thought she was amazing before. She hasn't joined Arsenal or Spurs, she is going through a legal battle which is probably highly stressful from her side. I assume she is doing this not for the money or the attention but because she feels like she was wronged by the club. She may of course be wrong in this, the club obviously disagree because they have offered no settlement and they are taking it to the next stage. Such is the legal system, it exists to resolve unresolvable disputes.

I just hope the end result isn't too bad for Chelsea. Making mistakes with dismissals is something all companies of all sizes do - I don't think it's particularly terrible of Chelsea if they have made a mistake (except for the person concerned of course). Hopefully there are no allegations proven of sexism from Chelsea.

why did they let their imagination get in their way? because they needed someone to blame for jose losing his job and/or the club's misfortune? you know that I'm curious about what jose had in mind when he said 1 day he would speak about this fiasco but it would still be sometime before that happens and I don't think I have that much of a patience so lets just play out the imagination card.

This abuse that eva gets, is it deserved if things turn out like what some people are imagining here, that she sleeps around with the players?  my point would be, so what if she did? giggs and terry are still highly respected even after what they did to their borther and teammate respectively.. whatever her personal life is like (as long as it's not criminal), it doesn't matter for Chelsea FC, does it?

Ever visited any football websites? If you have you'll see the level of respect other teams have for Giggs and Terry for their alleged indescretions. You could not be more wrong.

And if you knew anything about a doctor'TVs code of conduct you'd know that you can be struck off for having a relationship with patients in your care. I have no idea if EC has and am not suggesting she is guilty of anything of the sort.I am merely addressing your question 'so what if she did?'. It's a very big deal if she did.

this whole thing is ridiculous, its a circus created by the media and the politically correct, boss unhappy with doctor, boss drops doctor, doctor gets hump and leaves, thats it !! if she had of been a he this debate would not even be occurring !! jose was at fault for not keeping the whole thing behind close doors and that's it

There was a he involved, though I'm not surprised you forgot as he has been whitewashed out of the whole sorry tale.

Other teams fans? as if it has any sort of relevance.. I was talking about their own club fans.. lets use terry for example, what did you say about his so called indiscretion?

And that so called code of conduct, whatever position they have, they're still human being at the end of the day who should have the freedom to struck a relationship with whoever they want.. what if they did it after work? does that work for you? or it's still forbidden because simply she's a doctor?  what an unfortunate job that is if it is..

I think not having any sort of 'relationship' when they're on duty is code for all jobs, not just doctor and I don't think she sleeps with the player during the day, it's probably at night or a day off which their positions are simply human being..

Both adults, both willing, and not doing it while they're on duty, so what's the problem?

you mean her assistant? who just put his head down and got on with it?

Yep, that's the fella. How's his lawsuit going I wonder.
  • 1 month later...

Another hearing today, apparently with mediation going on longer than expected...hopefully they will come to an agreement...this saga has gone on way too long and not done either party any favours...time everyone moved on and went separate ways

you mean her assistant? who just put his head down and got on with it?

Jon Fearn was treated better than Eva.

Eva was also allegedly called a filha de puta.

I can understand her anger. She seems like a feisty personality. Many women who have made it in highly male dominated workplaces tend to have a feisty streak.

As for using the public to generate pressure, I have no problem with it. Jose's legal staff is surely using anything they can to get an advantage.

Jose was cleared of sexually offensive language.

Think of people up against any employer and needing to find £500 an hour for a barrister and not having the aid of publicity.

See undertow's post.
