Italian news outlet Sport Mediaset are reporting Inter Milan are close to agreeing a loan deal with a view to a permanent deal for Cuadrado.

Loans are also about increasing the value of an asset by allowing them to show their worth in a competitive environment.

How much has his value dropped in just 6 months? Now we could keep him on and maybe hope he fits in better or we loan him somewhere he's had success recently and where he's likely to play so that he can increase in value again.

He's just turned 27 mate so he'd be 28 if it's a 1 year loan.

I agree, we should just sell to the highest bidder if we don't want him. No point paying the majority of his wages when he isn't here playing.

Stupid signing anyway. Hardly anybody thought he was good enough for us when we were first interested in him so i'm not surprised it's turned out this way. The money we got for Schurrle was a complete waste.

I disagree with that first statement because if there are no suitors and the club are ready to move on then it may well be financially better for us to loan him, allow his value to increase whilst having another club pay his wages and possibly even a loan fee. It all depends on what the club has planned for that right-wing though.

It's the nature of the transfer market I suppose. I'm hindsight we probably should kept schurrle and reviewed the situation in the summer. Cuadrado wasn't in the best of form at fiorentina when signed him, so I think if we had hung on, he wouldve been cheaper aswell.

Very disappointing we haven't sorted out that right wing spot though still, considering money spent. It doesn't look like there is much available this summer either.

Realistically there is not a lot out there for the right wing position the only ones I can see improving it are Bale and Greizmann but both look very unlikely. Just baffles me how we let a 22 year old? Salah out on Loan and bought a 27 year old for 26m who is no better.

my question is would Florentina have sold him to Inter in the summer or have we done a bit of we do this for you if you do this for us with Inter ? ( if he ends up there )..... he looked great on the pitch for us when there were no defenders within 10 yards .... it all went pear shaped when a defender got within breathing distance of him

Going nowhere according to Jose.

"Because of that I have a lot of hopes for him for next season. I hope in the Copa America he can regain his self-esteem, his ego and that he has that joy of playing."

 

Makes it sound very much like he was behind the signing too. In a counter-attacking system he could work beautifully (similarly with Falcao) but he might just need to be given a run of games to build that confidence and he never got that last season.

Good news as far as I'm concerned. It's just way too early to give up on him.

I think he relies too much on his pace, but of course - I'd love to be wrong.

He gets until January to save his Chelsea career by the sounds of it.
