June 3, 201511 yr Cuadrado will leave Chelsea: meeting between his agent and Mourinho in next days. Inter and Roma are interested (via @DiMarzio) #CFC
June 3, 201511 yr The same guy who had Hulk signed sealed and delivered... Thank god he was wrong haha
June 3, 201511 yr Either way, we're going to lose money on him. Better to bite the bullet and do it while his reputation is still good in Italy. Edited June 3, 201511 yr by JM7
June 3, 201511 yr So long as we're recovering the majority of what we paid for him it's a no brainer to get rid in my opinion. I don't think i've seen a player start so awfully that has eventually come good. Maybe Jordan Henderson but he's hardly the gold standard.
June 3, 201511 yr Cuadrado Off? But isn't it still early days............................?!!! He just needs a good pre-season and he'll be raring to go

If we're hoping Cuadrado gets as good as Henderson we might as well pack up and go home already.
June 3, 201511 yr I don't get it, why should we sell him? Fellaini was in the same situation, they bought him for a big amount and he was a big flop until this season. Today he's one of the key players there. Same situation can happen with Cuadrado, Jose haven't even gave him to start 2 games in a row. Next season should decide his career, not this one.
June 3, 201511 yr Good point Fellaini is probably a better example. However of all the flop signings over the years Fellaini is really the only one that can be considered a turn around success and even then it's only because United have catered their entire style of play to him, and its sh*te.
June 3, 201511 yr Author But isn't Felliani's turn around a lot more to do with playing in a more preferred and advanced position. In his first season wasn't he being deployed in a holding role quite a lot and since his "revival" he's playing a lot higher up the pitch and is essentially their target man for when they want to be more direct. Cuadrado has been playing in his favoured position but just not doing a good job of it.
June 3, 201511 yr If he does go then it's another bizarre one since Jose came back. Our transfer policy has changed quite noticeably since he returned and I'm not entirely sure it's for the better in all cases. OK we made a profit on Schurrle but if we wipe that out by selling Cuadrado for a loss then questions need to be asked. As for the player himself, he never settled but I don't think he ever had a real chance to settle and some of that has to fall on Jose.
June 3, 201511 yr We have to bring in someone else if we do but who is available? Do we have to bring someone in? Personally, i would love to see bamford played on that RW. I know there's people here who won't agree with that, but i would like to give him a shot there instead of paying 30-40 million for someone else who may or may not work out. However, if griezmann came in then fine, but at the moment nothing is looking solid in regards to our interest in him. Edited June 3, 201511 yr by enigma

He’s better through the middle is he not or at least that’s where he’s been playing when I have watched him at Boro. I feel we need a top class winger for that right side as we have Hazard on the opposite side and everything seems to go down that side of the park, if we managed to add some real quality to the right I honestly think we’d be a real force (more so than this season). Obviously if it’s an uninspiring name like Salah or Cuadrado then yeah it would be nice but realistically we need a out and out right sided wide man. My worry though like you is we might end up wasting a huge sum on someone who can’t assist or score and we are left with more problems than solutions but hopefully the club have a target identified who will be that player we are missing.

If anything I see Remy getting more game time on the wings and it might make the Falcao signing make more sense if that was the plan.
June 3, 201511 yr This entire Cuadrado issue shows that we should never take gambles on players older than 27 unless they are truly world class (Fabregas etc.), not some run of the mill winger from the back ends of Serie A.
June 3, 201511 yr Fifty plus years of watching and playing football tells me Cuadrado is not good enough for Chelsea.Strange signing indeed.Get rid.
June 3, 201511 yr The way I see it- Cuadrado was a stop-gap after letting Schurrle leave. Really a no-lose situation. Rented him for a season and can find a long term replacement if it's not him. Won't be losing very much money on him, if at all. And he got his BPL title. Win-win.
June 3, 201511 yr Was a stupid signing to begin with, getting our money back would be awesome, but someone needs to be held responsible for bringing him in. No idea what they were thinking
June 3, 201511 yr I'd rather we bring Traore into the first team, He can't do any worse than Cuadrado has.
