Just watched a 7 minute youtube comp of the man and some of his goals are just magnificent, absolutely world class.

However it made me feel exactly like I did when I watched Torres' compilations when he was rumoured to be signed.

That's the problem with YouTube compilations they can make anyone look like a superstar

If you watched him for Manchester United last season you'll see his pace and movement is still top-notch, he was just bought by them for name alone without a specific role in the team in mind at a time when his confidence was too fragile for him to be able to force his way in due to having played about twice since a 6+ month injury. Torres was simply permanently physically incapacitated and consistently let his frustrations with this further negatively impact his performance; Falcao is physically and mentally stronger than Torres.

If Jose thinks he can resurrect the real Falcao then I believe him.

Yeah he still has the movement but he's lost his predatory instincts also his pace isn't top notch still at all. Also I don't get how he is supposedly mentally better than Torres.

I actually thought at times his movement was pretty poor. Instead of running in behind the defenders he would stay in front of the defenders and collect the ball. He's working hard still but on and off the ball he looks very average.

Most signings are a risk, they realise this is a bigger risk hence go for the loan first.

We are in a risk of looking like a bunch of idiots if a player with his salary and status fails. We are known of it.

This is far from official yet. We can't make the same mistake for the fourth time now, can we? (Veron, Shevchenko, Torres, F..............)

If we were to sign him and he were to flop I'd make him 5th... Sutton kick started it all.

Pogba, Varane, Reus... These are the signings we were all hoping for this summer to get to the level of Barca, Bayern, Madrid, etc. So far things haven't looked particularly promising.

The biggest weaknesses are in central midfield and right wing. Last time Mourinho spoke of surgical improvements. All was done precisely and without wasting time. Seems to be a lot less clarity this time around.

Well Falcao was invisible in Colombia's opening match at the Copa America. They lost 1-0 to Venezuela. Hardly had a touch. Not sure he managed a shot in 90 mins.

Cuadrado played on the right. Saw plenty of the ball but didn't do much with it. Commentators said he was Colombia's best player but that's not saying much as Colombia were poor overall.

Just one match, I know, but I'm even less convinced than I was before.

Just watched the game too, thought Falcao looked like Torres on a bad day and even less mobile. Mark my words this will be a disaster of a signing and that we can all see it a million miles away makes it all the more baffling.

He doesn't look fit to me. Slow, very little effort, and trying to avoid any contact at all. You would think he would try to impress since he's in the "shop window" sort to speak.

I suspect he probably is trying to impress but just doesn't have it in him.

At times he reminded me of my Grandad stumbling up out his chair to put the kettle on.

I honestly think if he does come in then it's a backwards step, even as a third choice replacing 36 year old Drogba. Baffling.

Cuadrado was Colombias best player. Never judge a player off 1 game, but given that Colombia as a whole were poor bar Cuadrado, it is a tad unfair to single out Falcao

If remy stays Falcao is obviously a big step up on drogba. Drogs was way past his best last season whereas Falcao may have two decent seasons in him. Didn't get a great review in today's Colombia game though.
