Super Frank's Send Off

A testimonial for Frank and others would be great. Playing Rangers would be great. I know a load of Rangers fans (including relatives of mine) who would come down for it. I was at Ibrox in 2007 and Frank got a great reception from the Rangers fans. When he went to take a corner he was applauded by the Rangers fans.

If there was a testimonial then he deserves better than Rangers. I'd like to see a combined world XI team vs a Chelsea XI. Just think of the players he's encountered who would turn up for a charity match.

Drogba, Terry, Ballack, Sheva, Makelele, Hazard, Robben, Zola, Eidur, Petit, Gallas, Le Saux, Desailly, Jimmy Floyd, Soxxy, Duff etc.

Managed by Jose Mourinho

vs

Gerrard, Ferdinand, Rooney, Schweinsteiger, Neville, Beckham, Lahm, Puyol, Ronaldo, Tevez etc.

Managed by Harry Redknapp.

Frank actually has quite a bond with Rangers and the support, just ask the man himself.

He certainly wouldn't say he 'deserves' better than Rangers.

I know he's said some nice things but if we're having a testimonial then don't he and the fans deserve better than Rangers? No offence to any Rangers supporters but this is a guy who has played against the world's best.

Plus he has a good media profile so this match could actually generate revenue through being televised which would be great considering it would be a charity match. Get the biggest stars you can and have a team stuffed with some of the best players of a generation that he's come up against.

Just an idea though.

I was there in 2011 when I was living in Glasgow, and yeah same thing - they applauded him and vice versa.

I genuinely think he'd be delighted with Rangers - but I see where you're coming from.

I'd hope any testimonial would include guys like Cech, Drogba Paulo, Eidur etc. though

I wonder if it would be a mixed testimonial since we have a whole cluster of players who themselves would qualify for the same honour.

Could do a Cech-Terry-Lampard testimonial....but if it's next summer then there's a certain somebody who also qualifies.

Read some bullsh*t rumour that some fans chanted 'Judas Frank' after the parade....that's bollocks isn't it?

I was at Eels Broke Common and I heard nothing of the sort, I thought the majority of the crowd disbanded quite quickly considering the volume of people, so how long after they’re alleging it happened I don’t know. Before the bus came there were chants of 'Super Frank' but not that Judas sh*te, not from where I was anyway.

Same here. Thought it sounded like bollocks.

Frank made a big cock up tainting his Chelsea legacy for a season with city, he will regret that the rest of his days I'd think...still a club legend, one of my favourite of all time, but I was bitterly disappointed

Will he stay in the game when he finally retires? “I’m not someone who says they will miss the dressing-room banter. That’s not really me. I have a varied life and could get by without football if that’s the way it pans out. I’ll always keep my season ticket at Chelsea though and if they want me back in any capacity…”

He's a Chelsea legend regardless of if he played for City. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/frank-lampard-hard-work-is-the-key--unless-you-are-lionel-messithe-rest-of-us-have-to-graft-10290776.html

Watching Farewell Frank Lampard, that scene where that West Ham fan was saying he wasn't good enough and Redknapp stuck up for him staying "he's gonna go to the very top" actually gave me goosebumps. f**k you West Ham fans you didn't know what you had!

i dont think they even cared what they had, they just saw the lampard name and assumed he was only there because of his uncle and dad. maybe if they actually bothered to give him a chance to prove his worth, they'd have had the pleasure of his talents for a lot longer, if not his whole career. but they didnt, and thank f**k for that!

Sadly very true, but great for us

Did they hate Redknapp that much?  I can't remember what the situation was like there at the time.  It's only just occurred to me that it seems odd that they wouldn't give their support to the son and nephew of two of their past long-standing players.

Imagine if JT's son were to be signed by us.  We'd all be willing him to make it and probably making loads of allowances for him rather than accusing him of only being there because of who his dad was.

They must have really disliked 'Arry and Frank snr I guess.

Have you watched the Farewell Frank Lampard program? That scene where the hammers fan is saying he's not good enough infront of him is hard to watch.

We would never treat a legends son like that thankfully. West Ham are on odd bunch,

Frank is a legend and a gentleman, I don't care if he had a season at City. That's Chelsea's fault for not extending his contract. Every time you see him and he talks about Chelsea you can see how much the club and us as supporters meant/ mean to him.

One of a dying breed a footballer that actually loved his club. I wish him all the best and hope he comes back ASAP.

If memory serves me correct, and that's not often, I believe the lad in the crowd grilling 'Arry was actually related to one of the lads that Frank was keeping out of the team.
