Credit to City fans/players gave Frank the send off he deserved.

Even in their final games Frank upstaged Stevie.

 

Gerrard got thrashed by Stoke, Lampard scored a winning goal.

 

Story of their careers... Gerrard's massive hype invariably followed by a massive anti-climax versus Frank's quiet understated brilliance.

Feels a bit like the ex you lived with for 5 years suddenly getting married to a new bloke after 2 months together. It's just wrong.

I don't have Sky and if I did I'd struggle to watch it, I'd definitely cry.

A legend without question but a very sad way to say goodbye.

In his heart I am sure Frank knows he made a massive mistake taking the Citeh offer. Absolutely massive.

It was an emotional watch but it was good to hear him speak about Chelsea and what the club and the fans mean to him. It felt to me as though he has misgivings about the move to City but is trying to take the best from that - he spoke about the opportunity it has given him to see a different way of working from what he was used to at Chelsea. The subtext was still referring to a possible return to Chelsea in some role in the future; who knows?

And of course the one regret he has is that he didn't get to have a proper farewell at the Bridge - I still think we should have a testimonial or something for him and give him and the fans that occasion.

A Frank Lampard testimonial match at the Bridge would be the perfect way for the club and us, the fans to say the biggest of thank you's to a player who has been a superb servant to Chelsea FC, a great ambassador for English football and one of the most respected players to grace a football pitch anywhere in the last 15 years. (unless you count the reception he always got at Wet Spam ?) Too many great memories of a truly great player to pick out half a dozen, let alone one, and as for all that rubbish talk about tarnished reputation etc ??.......one word,...B******S.!!  

My feelings can't take all of this.

Love him.   But it's easier to say that now, at the end of our league winning season.  I would've still loved the guy anyway, but it would've been difficult if City had beaten us to the title.  

 

Thankfully, we can now remember his time here with no shadows.

While it was classy of City to give him the armband and send off I must it admit it did hurt a little to see that in a City shirt.

Should have been carried off the park like Drogba in a Chels top but I guess it wasn’t meant to be!

Could we still lobby the Club to give him a testimonial?

If Cech goes it would be great if there was a Testimonial/ charity game for Lampard, Cech and Drogba. None of them need the money, make the tickets reasonable and there would be a full house easy. With the three of them splitting the gate receipts for their chosen charities.
