I'm wondering, where is Lampard's send off? All the media talk is about Gerrard, now putting my Liverpool hatred aside, Gerrard does deserve a good send off, a very good player and a great servant to his club. However, the media have hardly mentioned Lampard, who is soon to play his last game in the Premier League, I think it's an absolute disgrace.

Anyway, putting Lampard's move to City aside, do people want to post their favoroute memory's of Frank, favourite goals etc...

My favourite goal is possibly his one against Bayern:

Incredible skill.

Most of Gerrards memory goals are hit and hope strikes from outside the area but Lamps has quite a few absolutely incredible technical and precise finishes.

I'm sure the media has mentioned that Gerrard won the Bronze Ballon d'Or in 2005. Will they mention that Lampard won the silver one that year ahead of Stevie Me? Ronaldinho was the winner that year.

Unlike his red equivalent, he simply doesn't need all these forced theatrics. Whilst the goal against us was incredibly bitter to take at the time (and understandably to many still is), the fact that City crashed and burned after New Year's renders it moot against a decade and a bit of incredible service. He did all his talking on the pitch and I still think we haven't replaced what he bought to the team as aside from Toure for a few years, there isn't a CM in the world close to doing what he could do.

Only thing I can think right now is Lampard technically left last season and for a while it was assumed he wouldn't be back with any English club. Did they do anything for Frank then in the media?

I know he didn't ge no guard of honour and Sky promos for it been his last everything,

Always loved this goal of his. Controls the ball with his chest, and on the turn volleys it past one of the best keepers in the world. With his weaker foot. Still waiting for Gerrard to do that.

Gerrard is a one club man, unfortunately Lampard tainted his legacy this season

Although Lampard annoyed me with his move to City, he is still a legend of the club and easily in the top 3 all time Chelsea greats. He deserves just as much praise as Gerrard is getting, more actually seeing as he has won a lot more.

One club man, except for the american club hes joining, and the fact he begged to join Chelsea, but scouse thugs scared him into staying. Good effort though, you almost made sense. Almost.

If he hadn't gone to City he'd be getting a better send off, not much sympathy for him in that regard.

Lamps lets his trophy haul do the talking! Broke my heart a bit when his face dropped at being described as "England and Man City legend" on TV the other day. I'll follow him in the MLS and I hope he returns to Chelsea one day.

A one man club about to play for another club.

Not really another club though is it, we all know it's a retirement home

What a crock!

His legacy isn't tainted in the slightest.

Erm, it definitely is, just look at the Lampard thread. He's managed to drop down from being our 'best player ever' to now in the 'top 3' (look below)

If City had won the league because of Lampard this season I'm sure your reaction would be very different.

I hate Gerrard more than anyone, but to be suprised at Gerrard getting more publicity than Lampard is silly, Liverpool are media darlings.

Not sure why Lampard didn't get more coverage last season though, I guess people knew he'd end up at City...

Of course LA Galaxy is another club. Ludicrous. It might not be anywhere near as competitive but it will still read on his list of clubs: Liverpool, LA Galaxy. Which is more than one.

Most people I know, me included would put Zola and JT as our top two legends anyway. Just because Lampard is third doesn't mean his legacy is tainted in anyway. People who've bitched about him going to City won't give a crap in a few years time, it will be forgotten history.

it was forgotten as soon as the goals dried up, some of the abuse aimed at him was massively over the top and unnecessary.

I think if Lampard had been a media whore like Gerrard and anounced his intention to leave us in the January something would have been done for him.

Exactly!  No-one knew he was going until he'd gone. At the end of last season there was still a possibility he'd sign a new contract with us.  So the "last game" was only "possibly his last game"
