Just home after post match booze up...what a great day...from return of some legends to getting a Chance to say goodbye to a couple...couldn't help but wonder if frank tuned in somewhere to see Drogba getting the big send off and thought 'that could have been me'.

After the trophy presentation some guy sprinted onto the pitch and made a beeline for Didier. Seemed to grab hold of him and was pulled off by the stewards but then Didier said something to him and ended up giving him a hug.

Nice picture, Didier is a class act.

Brilliant day, the match was really just a sideshow before the main event. Nice touch with DD getting a proper send off. Well done to JT and Ivan, played every minute of every match... Costa for getting his 20 goals though personally I'd have let Cech take the penalty... Well done to JM... who said never go back? Well done to Roman for having the sense to re-hire him. Ah f*ck it, just well done to everyone. Boring Boring Champions

PS I didn't think the day could get any better... then I found out that Stevie Me and co got tonked 6-1 by Stoke!! Shame he didn't score an own goal as well but I guess you can't have everything.

Ha! ha! actually said the same to my boy!

I just remembered - the announcer reading out the results of the other games and making a huge point of the Liverpool score (in fact, he only mentioned the Hull, Newcastle and Liverpool games IIRC). LOL.

As some of you may know I've made scrap books of all the newspaper articles after every trophy win since the Carling Cup in 2005. I've never been short of material and the coverage of the CL itself got over a one book full of pictures, opinions and analysis. Today, I would like to thank the Express and the Daily Mail for their huge contribution and celebratory pictures.

Just would have been nice to have a little more.

And what does that tell us, shameful.

I think it was Liverpool's biggest defeat since 1957(?).

As much as its a sh*te paper I'm sure the Sun will have a decent size spread, they normally put the Champins on the middle of the paper with a poster of them lifting the trophy.

Your right they have, more than any other paper I've seen have done

job done. hope the lads enjoy their well-earned break cos you can bet jose will make pre-season hell for them! first major trophy for many of the squad so he will want to make sure they dont slack off this season. could well be in for a shock when they come back!!

Well done lads. A deserved rest after a lovely and enjoyable last 274 days or so.

Couldn't have asked for more.

Now time for us enjoy the summer break and bask in all the glory.

:joy:  :biggrin:  ::clap2::

I read somewhere that Spurs beat them 7 - 2 in 1963 - sure Spud remembers that!

That's why I put in the question mark as I wasn't sure, but I saw Rodgers being interviewed right after the match and the question was something like "this was Liverpool's heaviest defeat since 19XX, what went wrong?"

I was minding my own business having a bite to eat 2 hours before kick-off, when I got a call to say there's a spare in the East Upper!

Fast forward a few hours, I ended up in a rocking Prince of Wales until closing dancing to ska and reggae - almost missed the parade I was so hungover!

He also emphasised that Frank had scored Gerrard hadn't!  He is definitely one of us!

But the best announcement was Jose's first match back "I have much greater pleasure in welcoming this manager than the last one".  I genuinely thought I'd misheard!

Btw I may be getting mixed up between the dj and the Neil Barnet the pitch announcer?
