Red Bulls vs. Chelsea (IC) 22/07/2015 KO: 8:00pm Eastern

Only bright point was Moses looked lively for the first half.

The second half was a shambles.

It wasn't just the kids (Traore, Loftus-Cheek) who looked out of their depth either.

Blimey. Humiliation by the youth team of a middling American side. Talk about coming down to earth with a bang.

Bad pre-results happen, we usually lose one every year so we shouldn't worry, but that was comically bad. One of those you would usually just laugh and move on, but I think the boss will be a bit worried by that

I think the plan was to give everyone a run out but to save the big guns for the second half. So Hazard, Costa, Matic, Terry, Ramires all come on and put these Yankee upstarts in their place.

Well that didn't happen.

It seemed quite the opposite. Weird seeing JT and co getting schooled by kids, like BenCFC said it was almost three stooges

or something.

We got hammered 3-0 by Werder Bremen last year so this really means nothing, fans can have their laugh at us now but save their tears for when the real football starts

We're still the strongest team in the PL, barring City get younger in the back and in defensive midfield. There is no question about that.

But the problem is that we had no heart in our performance in the second half - outside of Diego Costa. We're playing Arsenal for the shield in a week, and our upcoming matches are extremely difficult. We need to be on point here.

Bit of an overreaction from people. We had a ton of chances that would have gone in on another day, and a couple of their goals came from stupid mistakes. First pre-season game so there's no need to be concerned. José is a winner and will hate losing, but there were plenty positives. However, was interesting how the first set of players performed better in the first half. Credit to moses and traore, they both looked very good on the ball and had intent offensively. Remy was not great, barring the goal (which was offside). I will only be concerned if we end pre-season looking like sh*t, but after one game it's pointless whining.

Wow can't believe we lost by that shoreline, first game of pre season though, am I right in thinking the NY Red Bulls season has already gotten underway?

Also I wonder why we have started pre season late this year, we started earlier last season didn't we?

Didn't see the game, but I think it will serve to tighten up concentration for the next couple of pre season games.

Defend like that against Barca and well...sh*t.

Loftus cheek certainly needs to go on loan. Still yet to impress in a single game for the senior team I'm afraid. traore will probably go on loan as well.

Anyway I'm not bothered about results, just as long as they got match fit.

Mourinho said they are staying in his press conference after the game.

neither of them played bad, and traore was one of the standouts in the first half imo, as well as moses. people constantly sh*t on the youth players who feature yet the senior players were the worst ones i thought.

And the doom merchants were out in force then as well

On a side note, Liverpool and City have gotten better this off-season, we have clearly gotten worse.

after one pre season game? Jesus
