Just a reminder .... he's made more than 300 appearances and won 4 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups, 3 League Cups, 1 Champions League and 1 Europa League title.

And he can now relax and chill out every season while raking in the money. The  club objective of 4th place will be a doddle for him to achieve.

Even if Chelsea FC is trying to refuse this transfer, it can only delay one season at most. The next season, he is free to go anywhere, with 0 (Zero) transfer fee.

Isn't it better if we could get 11 Millions + showing respect to players and maintaining Chelsea status as a classy club ?

The status thing doesn't really mean anything does it? Clubs don't give us the same courtesy so I don't see it beneficial in the slightest.

If £11 million was the price between Arsenal being a serious contender (better team) and not being as strong then I'd say that would be more than worth it IMO.

I can't dislike big Pete & I respect his desire to continue at the top.

 

I can expect those that make decisions higher up to get the right deal for the club & in this case I don't think they have.

 

Put the other way round, we'd be delighted if we had struggled to fill a position and then bought that player off of a direct rival for a bargain price.

Hopefully Koscielny can move to Spain and bring some balance to the Arsenal defensive incompetency even with the arrival of Cech

Agree £11 mil whilst still been £11 mil (every penny counts) in my opinion is less valuable than one more season with Cech as back up. Yes he'd be free to go to Arsenal next Summer but he's also be a year older and possibly a year worse off having sat on the bench for most of the season. Just imagine if we go into the new season and Courtois gets a bad injury aswell we'd be kicking ourselves. We really should have at least made them wait until the end of the window.

Lampard is a true Cheksea legend!!! I'm not sure if JT will be able to top his success but I don't think we should compare them.

I'm actually happy we're playing the gooners in just under 4 weeks. A good smashing will send them back down to earth and remind them exactly where they finished behind us last season.

A great day. Several beers were drunk in the pub after the match. One of my brothers-in-law is a gooner. I gave him loads of stick after the game.
