First game of the season

Featured Replies

I'm happy with that, we get Newcastle away in September not Nov/Dec for a change plus we have Arsenal quite early in both halves of the season which I also like. Should be a good season and Seven Times I can feel the nerves already to

Swansea at home on opening weekend is a perfect starter in my opinion. Shouldn't be moved further than Sunday hopefully. Maybe United-Spurs ends up on Monday.

City second is a bit of a pain but it gives us a chance to set our stall out.

Last game of the season is at home to Leicester which could be worse, although if they're still fighting for survival....

5th from last game is home to City.

3rd from last game is home to Spurs.

Arsenal at home on the 19th September

HOME to Watford on Boxing Day - Perfect.

Away to Man United 2 days later...urgh.

Away to Arsenal 23rd January.

Home to Man United 2 weeks later on 6th February.

To me, those 'big' games look a lot more spread out than last season when we had a 20 game run after Christmas where we didn't play too many of the big guns. We have a run from 26th September (after the Arsenal game) of about a dozen games where the biggest are Liverpool at home and Spurs away. That could be a key period for us to get a lead.

The CL Fixtures are...

15–16 September, 29–30 September, 20–21 October, 3–4 November, 24–25 November, and 8–9 December 2015.

So after Everton H and before Arsenal A

After Newcastle A and before Southampton H

After Villa H and before West Ham A

After Liverpool H and before Stoke A

After Norwich H and before Spurs A

After Norwich H and before Leicester A

Not the easiest run of fixtures for the first two months of the season, really going to have to hit the ground running.

At least the Christmas period looks fairly favourable.

... and from the start of the new year we don't travel north of Watford for two months!

As for the troublesome November period

Stoke Away

Norwich Home

Spurs Away

Could be worse.

December looks like a time we could make a real run with 3 home games (Bournemouth, Sunderland, Watford) and 2 away (Leicester and Man United).

We play Man City at home a few days before a potential Champions League Quarter-Final second leg but nothing else exceptionally notable in that regard.

Good spot that. During such a hectic period, the lack of travelling can surely only be a benefit to the team.

I'm quite liking how the fixtures have come out for us this year I am glad we can man city out of the way early for the first half of the season

They're very spread out. There's almost nothing notable or exceptional about the fixture list at all. Nothing to moan about, plenty to be optimistic about.

How dull. :laugh2:

A pain that Norwich away is on a Tuesday night. Was hoping it would be a weekend game. Would make a great weekend as there are some wonderful pubs in Norwich and they serve a great selection of beers.

City , west brom and Everton our first three away games, very difficult start imo. The home games won't be two bad but even sides like Swansea and palace can cause problems, I think this years race will be one of the closest ever

Droogba, it's the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye. A fine place and a wonderful whisky.

My favourite whisky, although a tad expensive for general use. I drink Teachers as my "session" whisky, as it has a peaty edge :)

Overall, not too shabby a fixture list. I like how the bigger games tend to be spaced out across the season.

A few concerns though. We have a lot of tricky away games in the first few months, games in which we've lost in the last few seasons. My other main gripe is that we have to go up to Old Trafford right in the middle of the Xmas period, I always thought that

the games during this time of the year are supposed to be relatively nearby? That said I’ve wanted to go up to Old Trafford for a while and this would give me a great chance as my office is shut!

In terms of the run-in, imagine if we could retain the title at home v Spurs in the third last game of the season? Would be brilliant. Some tricky away games to take care of in April and May.
