Personal terms agreed by the sounds of things. Marina Granovskaia no doubt driving a hard bargain over the fee.

I don't think you want to mess with her.

I wanna see her and Rhonda Rousey in the ring. Might be a sick thrill for me, who's asking?

I wonder if we also need to be a bit more reserved in our spending in order to put the money we would normally spend towards upgrading the bridge.

In big pictures terms I think thats also part of it. The stadium doesnt count toward FFP but Romans pocketbook is a little lighter than it was 10 or 5 years ago which is IMO the motive behind buying and loaning so many young players. I think the club are hoping a handful turn into great players which leaves us little need to buy already established stars. KDB was an excellent example, just didnt work out in that particular case. If there was an under 21 euro club tournament our loan army would blow everyone out of the water.

Whats the source for personal terms Socrates?

There were two reports, one out of Italy by Gianluca Di Marzio about a five year deal:

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/456931/Chelsea-18m-Abdul-Baba-Rahman-Augsburg-Arsenal-Community-Shield

And another one quoting his agent in Germany’s Bild:

Mou has been banging the FFP drum for a couple of years now... perhaps as a means to justify what could be reserved spending over the next 5 years? We do seem to be heading in the same direction Arsenal did a few years ago. Managing the potential transition could be Mourinho's greatest achievement.

in a year's time we'll probably offer Rahman plus 30mil for him.

Haha. How about Cuadrado and a half eaten bag of Walker's prawn cocktail crisps for him?

I dont mind the idea of mou achieving success on a budget it gives us a type of prestige and moves us away from this buying titles dig

Then if we actually want to spend money wisely, we need to stop buying chumps like Cuadrado or Salah. Instead the 40mil that went for those two players could have been used for a top player like Griezmann.

What makes you think Jose is even interested in Griezman? Money is not the problem, if Jose wanted him or anyone and the selling club are willing it would be done.

Salah is no chump, and at 11m it wasnt even a waste of money considering Roma will pay that and more for him. Cuadrado has only been here half a season, what did Willian do for us in his first 15 games? And now for some reason everyone loves him.

Back around to Baba, this is good business and hopefully this board isnt slagging him off in 2 months for starting slowly

Like we would do such a thing......

How is Salah not a waste of money? Even if we get back every penny of what we spend on him, it's still a waste because he didn't contribute anything to our team in the time he was here. If we didn't spend that money, we would have been standing exactly where we are standing today. With Cuadrado, you can use the excuse that he's only been here for half a season, but so far i haven't seen any improvement from him. I wonder how long you can keep using that excuse before you can admit that Cuadrado just doesn't have what it takes.

Willian is a bit more difficult. He's a likable player but that comes from his work rate above all else. His work rate is probably the main reason Mourinho uses him so much. But if you ask me, at Chelsea our players should bring more to the table then just work rate.

Back on topic though: Rahman is a good player but i wonder what his role is gonna be. Luis was a very good player and look how many minutes he played for us.

what did Willian do for us in his first 15 games?

Scored one and set one up coming off the bench in one of his first appearances (might even have been his first) away to Norwich. Instantly showed ability and potential.

Six months later with Cuadrado and not even a shot to get excited about.

Not trying to sound negative but when I saw him in preseason against PSG I was amazed by how slow he was. Not physically slow but his playing style. My wife (her first game) even asked why he was so slow. I don't know if he's still in that Italian league state of mind but it's hard to counter when you are lightly jogging down the flank before stopping and then decide to cross.

Goal and an assist, wow. My point is he didnt exactly light it up off the bat. Cuadrado should be given more time before we pass judgement.

Salah contributed when he was given time here. Im not saying he was great for us but its not flushing 11m down the toilet. Hes a good player that just didnt work out for us. Was KDB a waste of money? Very similar situation as far as we're concerned.

I'll give Cuadrado until January to prove himself, hes been sh!t so far but I dont think hes a lost cause yet. Seems difficult to come into a new league, new team and hit the ground running in the middle of a title race.

Baba will be subbed a lot I feel. If we're chasing a game hed be more useful than Bran. He'll probably get some starts to rest Dave or Bran as well.

Cuadradro looks like he cannot even control a football most of the time when it comes to him.

Looks like a player whose head has gone, not one who us still settling in.

Sick and tired of this argument. How long should we wait? Cuadrado looked exactly like this in Italy ad well. If he gets a lot of time on the ball and hets to olay the entire game without beeing subbed he had a few moments of brilliance every other game. But he was terribly inconsistent, lost the ball a lot in dangerous positions, looked like a player that had zero football IQ and when he wasnt given a ton of space or playing on the counter he looked generally poor. Theae struggles are the exact same hes had here and Some of us saw this coming a mile away.

Yeah who needs goals in football. Completely overrated they are.

So after six months, a player of 27 who is one of the most expensive players in our squad has failed to make one contribution of significance.... Exactly what are we waiting for?

We are set to make money on Salah if he decides to leave at the end of the season we get paid for his loan plus all his wages and the fee is stated at a slight profit.

and its not just underlying profit with how FFP works the initial fee is spread out over the length of his contract whereas the selling fee is there and then so it frees up more spending.

Yes he hasn't added much to the first team but its good for FFP which is therefore good for the first team

We aren't really judging Willian on his output, for £32m I expect more than 5goals + 5 assists every season and fans seem to have renamed him Iniesta.

Truth be told wouldn't trust Jose to sign creative players and I just wonder if he would have signed Hazard if it was his decision to make.

I was more sarcastically mocking the casual dismissal of a goal and an assist as a form of contribution.

But a point well made by yourself none the less.
