Not exactly terrifying, i'm confident.

Old habits die hard with Jose. He'll always go with the more cautious selection against rivals.

Good chance for Remy to lay down a marker for the season and show he's up to leading the line for us, especially if Costa's hamstrings continue to be so fragile.

They're obviously trying to us Walcott's pace against Cahill & Terry. Hopefully we have a plan to nullify that.

Walcott always seems to play well against us for some reason.

From memory Wenger said he'd be resting Sanchez at the start of the season due to the Copa?

 

To be honest i'd trade us missing Costa for them missing Sanchez any day. Remy is easily the best 2nd choice striker in the league and is probably just as likely to score. Hell Remy would start for Arsenal.

To me it seems like Jose has accepted we won't have much of the ball today so has went for the willing runner in Ramires.

Not exciting but I suppose we will have to hope it works.

 

Ramires struggled with injury last season.

 

I agree he can be frustrating but we mustn't forget how good he's been for us in the past.

 

If he finds his form we have a top player on our hands, but he's one of those who needs a run of games to find his feet.

 

He brings something no-one else in our squad does.

 

He can turn defence into attack with his running, either with the ball or without.

 

He's a more conservative choice than Oscar but a less conservative choice than Mikel.

 

I can understand why Jose's picked him.
