I was preaching it on twitter instead (not so much SWP and Kakuta mind you) It's probably lucky i wasn't on here for KdB, my meltdown would have been spectacular lol

Mancienne, Borini, Stoch, PVA, Bruma, Kakuta, Clifford were all apparently world class players in waiting who we shouldn't have let go. Fast forward to the current day and we'd be in the championship at best if all those players were playing key roles. Ake and Traore will have decent careers, but bar possibly scoring past us in a one off match I can't see either coming back to haunt us in any way.

Who? better than Cesc? Better than Hazard? In our formation, better than Pedro or Willian? I don't see the work-rate of those two in KdB myself. Better than Kante? I'll give you Matic, even though I don't think he is as bad as a lot in here.

I would say playing for the Willian/Pedro role or in the middle if we were to play a 3 man midfield.

I see them taking a similar path to KdB in that they end up at another big team for a huge sum of money. Ake probably more so than Traore tbh.

Playing as we do, he's way too lazy for the Pedro/Willian role. Might work out in a 3-man midfield, but I still think he has poor decision-making skills and bottles it in critical situations. But then again, I don't see him in every match he plays, so I can only judge him on what I see in the televised or streamed matches I watch. Despite that, I go back to what I have always said. He showed nothing in Chelsea colours to show he was anything more than average. He might well have developed now, but I saw nothing wrong in getting rid of him at the time.

I'd agree with you about Ake, getting bought on by a "bigger" team and then being OK-ish with them. But I still don't think he deserves to be sitting on our bench, but playing. I'd have preferred another season loan to someone like Bournemouth or the like.

Can't see it, as an undisputed starter i think Everton level will be their ceiling. They may join a big team as rotation/system players but I can't say that would particularly bother me.
June 27, 20179 yr F*cking gutted we sold him. He was good enough to be a squad player, he proved that a few years ago. Would have been nice to see a young player break through. Now the young players will be thinking they don't stand a f*cking chance. Edited June 27, 20179 yr by dansubrosa

It shouldn't be news to them that they have to work f**king hard to get their chance.

Or they will see another younger player from Denmark coming through next season. I agree Ake could have been a squad player, but maybe like Bertrand he just wants more.

We don't have any particularly great wingers either, doesn't mean selling Cuadrado was the wrong choice. In the right system KdB is an awesome player and certainly better than anything we have in our squad now but if we did play that system we wouldn't have sold Mata and would have played to Oscar's strengths better.
June 27, 20179 yr Always liked him, wish him the best over there and glad we have the ability to bring him back if he does develop to the top level!
June 27, 20179 yr As soon as he went to Ajax on loan, it felt like that was it for his chances with us. I would have liked us to get more for him than we have done though. That seem's like a sh*t deal to be honest.
June 27, 20179 yr There's a link to article that has Traore's own words about his move if anyone is interested. I guess you can argue he makes a fair point in his decision making. I still think he's pretty young to expect to be starting for the club personally... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4643800/Traore-says-time-stable-club.html#article-4643800

That's all I can say.
