Agree that he will struggle to get into the team. However, if by some chance he manages to take United down in the EL final then there most certainly was a point to his loan :)

The point of any loan is 1. Player development, 2. Player experience, 3. Game time.

I think, 2 of those 3 things have been done perfectly with Traore getting a lot of game time and experience of the highest order (playing in europa semi and scoring 2). 

I dont think the point of loan system is to integrate players to first team. I lost all faith in that after watching how Jose treated Lukaku and KDB in his first year.

Basing that on the Europa final? He's not starting eleven for sure but I think good to have him as part of squad, depending on how we stack our forward line. 

He's just not fast enough for this level. His athleticism lets him down. I think he could be a really good, top-flight level player in a few years but he just doesn't have anything outstanding right now. 

For me Traore needs a tactical system to get the best from him, not a trait of a top quality player imho. He'd be a perfectly capable backup for Willian/Pedro but at 20 he can start week in week out elsewhere. Sell.

Agree 100%. Would love to see him on a Prem loan at a Swansea/Leicester if they lose Mahrez. Perhaps even link the loan with Mahrez coming here.

He is used as a winger in Ajax, he doesn't have what it takes to be a winger. He did well for us starting in his natural striker role, just remember when Sturridge was at the club and he was pushed on the wing and was never as good as he was in the center forward position.

I rate him about the same as I did Kalou

yeah some of the nonsense i've read online about us buying him back in 5 years time for triple the price is ridiculous. we have batshuyai, looking to buy lukaku and have abraham coming through the ranks. there is zero chance of traore coming back to us. 

Reports suggest he is Lyon's replacement for Lacazette, he isn't good enough for that, I thought he would go their and be a squad player. Lyon would be looking for more quality in that area, surely.

Putting money on he ends up at a top English club within the next 5 years and we regret this. The lad has oozed talent since he first played that pre-season with us back in 2013.

Shame to see him go. Looked good last season in the games he had for us, great goal against Stoke I remember. I'm sure he was the one to instigate the move for the better of his career which I can understand. He probably went to Conte and said it's first team or I go and I'm sure both parties came to an amicable decision. Lyon are a good club, and if we have a buy back in place who knows. Good luck Berty.

I think we can't really give this guy a chance so it is best for both parties he moves on. Lyon is buying him and the goobyes are really close.

He has no chance of taking a role from any of our current wingers and he would be behind our lead striker and probably even Bats (if he stays).
