I'll be shocked if he gets anywhere near the team now, especially with Conte seemingly preferring Abraham as it is. Agree that he will struggle to get into the team. However, if by some chance he manages to take United down in the EL final then there most certainly was a point to his loan :)
May 10, 20179 yr The point of any loan is 1. Player development, 2. Player experience, 3. Game time. I think, 2 of those 3 things have been done perfectly with Traore getting a lot of game time and experience of the highest order (playing in europa semi and scoring 2). I dont think the point of loan system is to integrate players to first team. I lost all faith in that after watching how Jose treated Lukaku and KDB in his first year.

May 25, 20179 yr He's just not fast enough for this level. His athleticism lets him down. I think he could be a really good, top-flight level player in a few years but he just doesn't have anything outstanding right now.
May 25, 20179 yr For me Traore needs a tactical system to get the best from him, not a trait of a top quality player imho. He'd be a perfectly capable backup for Willian/Pedro but at 20 he can start week in week out elsewhere. Sell. Edited May 25, 20179 yr by the special one
May 25, 20179 yr It obvious he's who Utd were most scared of last night with 3 men on him every time he had the ball. Always wanting to get involved and his dribbling is sublime. Would be daft to sell.

Perhaps even link the loan with Mahrez coming here.

"he is often the last out of the tunnel and often the first back in" "He needs to adapt better to being marked out of gameses, which has been his problem this season" "If you think Riyad doesn't track back and show any defensive responsibilities, take a look at players like ozil" "I didnt like his body language yesterday in the five min period prior to his sub and then when he went off. he clearly has issues." "The doing too much and giving the ball away doesn't bother me really, it's the lack of effort and willingness to defend. If he doesn't want to put a shift in and work for his mates, forget him and cash in." "I don't think it's lack of effort and it's certainly not lack of talent. The problem this season has consistently been poor decision making, ie the same decision to run with it every single time. It makes him really really easy to defend, even given his many gifts." Daily Mail match report v Watford "a jellied bundle of insecurity" Just saying. Edited May 25, 20179 yr by the special one
May 25, 20179 yr He is used as a winger in Ajax, he doesn't have what it takes to be a winger. He did well for us starting in his natural striker role, just remember when Sturridge was at the club and he was pushed on the wing and was never as good as he was in the center forward position.

I could probably find you hundreds of similar quotes from Chelsea fans about Hazard from last season when he was clearly unhappy for other reasons. Heck I could probably find you hundreds of similar quotes from Madrid fans about Ronaldo. Most football fans are clueless. Just saying.
May 28, 20179 yr He is said to not want another loan move so if we are not going to use him then... I would hope to get more for him.

June 17, 20179 yr 17 Million is a profit at least. Hope we've got a BuyBack in this at the very least.

June 18, 20179 yr yeah some of the nonsense i've read online about us buying him back in 5 years time for triple the price is ridiculous. we have batshuyai, looking to buy lukaku and have abraham coming through the ranks. there is zero chance of traore coming back to us.
June 19, 20179 yr Reports suggest he is Lyon's replacement for Lacazette, he isn't good enough for that, I thought he would go their and be a squad player. Lyon would be looking for more quality in that area, surely.
June 20, 20179 yr Putting money on he ends up at a top English club within the next 5 years and we regret this. The lad has oozed talent since he first played that pre-season with us back in 2013.
June 20, 20179 yr Shame to see him go. Looked good last season in the games he had for us, great goal against Stoke I remember. I'm sure he was the one to instigate the move for the better of his career which I can understand. He probably went to Conte and said it's first team or I go and I'm sure both parties came to an amicable decision. Lyon are a good club, and if we have a buy back in place who knows. Good luck Berty. June 20, 20179 yr Fingers crossed he will end up at Anfield for £45M next season ... the last cog in the sh*tS dream front five ... Solanke Henderson Ings Traore Salah :-)
June 23, 20179 yr Author I think we can't really give this guy a chance so it is best for both parties he moves on. Lyon is buying him and the goobyes are really close. He has no chance of taking a role from any of our current wingers and he would be behind our lead striker and probably even Bats (if he stays).
