June 23, 20179 yr We could take a £10m offer & insert a buyback clause/1st option, or even loan him to them for 2 seasons like Christensen.

June 23, 20179 yr Given the less than 20m price we probably have a buy-back or sell-on clause with them. I'm not holding onto hopes of him being a top player but on the off chance he scored 20 goals for them next season he could be worth 40m in a years time
June 26, 20179 yr Done deal to Lyon. It's a shame in a way because unlike the other two youngsters who came through in 15/16 i feel he did have the potential to be a floating squad player (ie shifting between squad player and the 11th starter depending on form and circumstance) Kalou like but better but it weren't to be and good luck to him. Starter at a club like Lyon is a good (and about the right) level for him and the rumoured £20m is a good deal for us. Edited June 26, 20179 yr by Argo
June 26, 20179 yr Wish him the best of luck in the new club. Good player and has to play, if it was his decision then he made the right one. In my opinion, we just lost another talent that will become a good player for us. He might be Lacazette replacement or just a partner attack for Lacazette. Great attacking options to play with.
June 26, 20179 yr Not trying to trash the bloke but I had read that some people questioned his attitude when he was on loan at Ajax last season. Wonder how much of that is true. This is the link I was trying to find... http://metro.co.uk/2016/11/03/chelseas-bertrand-traore-criticised-by-ajax-manager-peter-bosz-6231927/ Wonder how much of that was true and how much is maybe clash with coaches, manager etc. Doesn't matter really now he's going elswhere but wonder if that adds a little context.
June 26, 20179 yr Wish him the best of luck with the move... can't say I'll be shedding any tears about him leaving though.
June 26, 20179 yr I thought everywhere was saying it was going to be £20m. People on here are obsessed with buy-back clauses, I doubt we ever put them in. Edited June 26, 20179 yr by Zeta

June 26, 20179 yr The sum is too low. I read now that is 10mln. euro + bonuses. But it`s just too low. Should be 20mln. + bonuses. They want 40-50mln. for every young player, why in the blue hell, we sell him for that low ? He was having a good season and is very young with great talent.

Definitely, the market is massively inflated these days, 10 million is akin to 5 million just a few years ago. Massively disappointing if true and the bonus clauses are not easily obtainable also.
June 26, 20179 yr Author Don't be sad people. We can always buy him back for much more. It is the Chelsea way.
June 26, 20179 yr The French don't allow buy back clauses but there is probably a gentlemans agreement. Plus there is a 15% sell on clause. So when Bayern buy him for 40m next summer we'll get 15% of it, which is nice The 10m fee is shocking, there has to be some reason its so low Edited June 26, 20179 yr by TheChelseaBlues

I think he's capable of playing at that level. We're missing some info on this transfer or someone at Lyon has blackmail on Marina

June 27, 20179 yr He's not that good and is very inconsistent but he has good potential... wish him the best
June 27, 20179 yr buy back option apparently. happy with that, I think he will become a good player, even if not for us, we could buy him back and sell him for a good profit.

June 27, 20179 yr 10mil euros. So half of what we expected. Add to that the fact that French FA does not even allow for buy-backs, I feel we just got ripped off. Dont rate him that highly and never thought he would be a part of the squad. Happy for him to finally get a team where he would get stability.
June 27, 20179 yr Hopefully Lyon will remember us doing them a favor here when their next big talent comes through, which shouldn't be too far away considering how often they are churning them out.

June 27, 20179 yr £10m basic plus £6m bonus plus a 15% sell on clause plus an unofficial buy back clause...not bad business... Edited June 27, 20179 yr by doctorblue
