No necessarily, maybe he feels like he can make a name for himself here.

@Scott, have you seen any of his game? He is unbelievably better than Zouma so I think it will be madness for him to come back and be behind Zouma.

I find it ridiculous how some posters are downplaying Zouma because a player who couldn't get in our team is having a few good games in a different league.

I wonder why Hidink and Jose both stuck with Zouma?

What do they know though right?......

Certain posters on here have a ridiculous bias towards African players, it's actually absurd. I'm Irish, but you don't here me harping on about Jeff Hendrick, Shane Long or Seamus Coleman do you? If a player is good enough, they'll play, it's that simple, and a nobody centre back, regardless of where they come from, having a few decent games for a relegation bait team in Germany does not make them a) Chelsea quality or especially b) better than our starting centre back who is rated by many as one of the top young defenders in the world. Remove your blinkers.

Bollocks.

You might be good enough yet you won't play if the manager doesn't like you.

Not really spoke to a Chelsea fan who doesn't like or rate Zouma...very strange

Zouma is a good athlete, not a good footballer.

His pace is good, he needs it to makeup when he buggers up.

You hear that about certain athletes in a lot of sports. It reminds me of what people have said in American Football for years about certain Quarterbacks. Cam Newton or Michael Vick were described early on as 'good athletes' as if to say that they can't also be good technicians or have the mental side of the game.

Zouma is phenomenally gifted physically but there's also been clear improvement almost game-by-game in his reading of the game and that's exactly what you'd expect from a young player. To say he isn't a good footballer is odd but to each their own.

He's only 21 and has come on leaps and bounds since his first appearance for us.

The fans clearly seem to love him as you can hear from those at the games and fans don't tend to be affectionate like that towards 'bad footballers'.

The whole argument than Papy is a better CB than one of Europe's top young CB's is pretty laughable.... to me anyway

Props to Shane Long, he's always up for a fight

It's laughable because you actually don't know Papy.

I don't rate him as a top class defender, what irritate me most is how he clears the ball when he is not under pressure and how he lacks composure with the ball at his feet.

Are you talking about Gary Cahill?

Aren't all those things that can improve with experience though? I don't think you have to elevate Papy by denigrating Zouma.

Fact is when Papy was Kurt's age he was barely even a professional footballer.

I understand your criticism of his simple style of play when on the ball but you have to take into consideration that he has only just claimed a spot in the starting eleven a few months ago and he is keeping it simple for a team struggling to avoid bad goals against each and every game.

His simplicity has brought some stability. However, I think with time and with better play from those around him he will start to make some more incisive passes.

Zouma is a good athlete, not a good footballer.

Current Chelsea and French international defender Kurt zouma isn't a good footballer? Bollocks.

I am a Nantes citizen. I know Papy very well since he came to Nantes in 2009.

He never stopped to improve, last season he was one of the best defenders in Ligue 1. Top 5-7.

I was very surprised when he joined Chelsea but I wasn't unhappy, I thought he would do well, but he never had the opportunity to prove his qualities...

He couldn't be worse than Cahill during the first part of the season.

To me he is made to play in BPL.

It's laughable because you actually don't know Papy.

I don't need to know him to judge Zouma is a better centre back than him, I have seen him play and I have yet to see anything that tells me he's a better option than Zouma.

2 of the leading managers in football also came to this conclusion.

I wonder why?

One manager is the same guy that sold off Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku. Not to mention he's the same manager that got fired for doing the same thing over and over whilst expecting different results. Like playing Ivanovic and Matic ad infinitum. Mourinho is a great coach, but he does not exume confidence in terms of player selection and the reason he's out is because he's stubborn as an ox.

As for Hiddink he came in and trusted the old guard match after match - tried to work with the use of them. He didn't trust a single youngster or alternative, instead he fell back on the age-old solution that is Mikel. And we all know what happened when he was forced to give Baba Rahman a two game runout...

"He didn't trust a single youngster or alternative, "

Except for zouma, who he trusted and played every game. Who's better than papa thingymibob. A lot better.
