Your basing that on one performance as a substitute? Whereas a couple of weeks back he looked very good. Mourinho has obviously kept him in the squad for a reason. Traore must be sh*t then, if Kenedy is on the bench ahead of him.

Regardless of whether Kenedy is good or not, the sole reason that Kenedy is ahead of Traore is because of Mourinho's fetish with Brasilians.

Another reason could be that Traore isn't as good as people on this forum want him to be.

Traore has some sort of hip injury, thats at least part of the reason why he didn't feature on the bench. Oscar could be back for Wednesday, but I doubt he'll start.

Mourinho has two options:

1. Use the same pathetic squad that he's been using so far hoping that Haccabi Tel Aviv will be a confidence booster. That means Ivanovic, Fabregas, Hazard, etc.

2. Use the relatively easy Champions League opener as a testing ground for a change in the starting XI and test out a whole new setup. Problem is that Mourinho doesn't really have that many options to shake things up. Do we really have anyone that can offer something new on the wings as compared to Pedro or Hazard? The only real option for 'something different' Victor Moses was shipped out on loan. The only real options we have in attack are between Costa / Falcao / Remy at the centre forward position. Past that we have hard workers, but no real gamechangers. The bench really lacks in creativity - Bertrand Traore could offer something different, but he's injured, untested and yet to feature this season.

Honestly the only truely significant change Mourinho can make is dropping Ivanovic and playing Azpi + Rahman.

Another reason is that Traore is injured (hip injury).

Another reason is that Mourinho sees him as a 4th choice forward.

Another reason is that Mourinho is just plain stubborn.

All reasons much more sensible than yours.

Meh I don't really agree with you. He couldn't cut it at Vitesse as an AM but was pretty good as a striker. If he had trouble in midfield there why should he then suddenly be a starter here?

Obsession with Brasilians? I highly doubt this supposed obsession with Brazilians is why he wont pick Traore.

I can't see many changes, tbh.  I think Jose will see this as a winnable game, and play the usual suspects in the hopes that a win will lift their spirits ahead of the Arsenal game,

Yeh, what's a lady wax landing strip got to do with it? ;)

Confident of a comfortable win tomorrow but its not gona make me worry less about saturday, saturday really is the biggest "must win game" we have had in years

Playing wednesday mate.

I think few changes from Saturday so we go with :

Begovic

Branna

Zouma

Cahill

Azpi

Matic

Mikel

Willian

Fabregas

Hazard

Costa or Remy

I think Jose will park the Bus especially if we go ahead and then look to bring on Loftus-Cheek, Kenedy, or perhaps even Rahmand if he makes the bench.

                 Begovic

Azpi -- Cahill -- Zouma -- Baba

         Fabregas -- Matic

   Pedro -- Willian -- Hazard

                 Falcao

Hopefully a 3-0 lead at HT with Remy, RLC and Traore coming on during the second half.

5-0

I'm encouraged to hear Oscar is back in training. Hopefully he can at least make the bench on Wednesday. We need him back for Arsenal. I would like to see Baba get a game. It would be nice to see what he can do. I can't see Jose making many changes but I will happy if I am proven wrong. I'll be surprised if we end up winning comfortably, only because of our current form. But hopefully we can get a much needed win one way or another and build on that Saturday.

I think we'll win this. The players will see this as a chance of fresh start and they will do anything to make it a victorious start. Confidence is the biggest problem.
