October 9, 201510 yr Liverpool are still a huge club, whether we like it or not. It's the reason why they haven't disappeared into obscurity yet or 'done a Leeds'. It's going to be very interesting now we have Mourinho, Van Gaal, Wenger and Klopp all in the same league.

October 9, 201510 yr I can forgive "big club", it's history that's the problem. In fact in fairness to him, he's been rather dismissive of the club's history and it's significance. "It’s very important not to be weighed down by history..." Oops, he won't be getting a flag in the Kop end anytime soon with common sense statements like that.I haven't read any RAWK reaction but I suspect they're convinced they're going to win the league now?

I haven't read any RAWK reaction but I suspect they're convinced they're going to win the league now? Give it time - a few wins and they will be the best team in the world again, in their deluded minds anyway. He has to polish a large turd - can't see him being too excited with Henderson, Milner and Lucas!
October 9, 201510 yr HA! By the way I still feel like we have celebrity with you on here, I trust we are your favourite opposition forum? ;-)
October 9, 201510 yr HA! By the way I still feel like we have celebrity with you on here, I trust we are your favourite opposition forum? ;-)Thanks mate! This is the only opposition forum I post at - yes I enjoy it, you're all level headed here and can discuss football related stuff without being too tribalistic which is refreshing for a club fan's forum. (If you're a lady, sorry for the 'mate') [emoji28] ^^^ word salad Sorry. Couldn't resist. You're about the only opposition fan I've not had any reason to do this to. Sensible away fans were almost a myth on here. See Everton and Arsenal. There is another United fan that posts thoug and he seems a good guy too.

There is another United fan that posts thoug and he seems a good guy too. Spuds a good lad, always been a decent poster. We have a Man City fan Kinkladze who posts now and then who has always been well balanced in their posts. Not many opposition fans stick around though, most spout off a few tired cliches and then are never seen again. There was an Arsenal fan on here for a while called Red&White but he was prick.
October 9, 201510 yr I think he's going to kick serious ass at Liverpool. Oh look, we're going to Anfield the week after we play Villa at home. Nope. Not going to anfield till the new year
October 9, 201510 yr The press loving his 'I'm the Normal One' line. Yeah it's hilarious, just like it was in 2007 when Avram Grant said the exact same thing.
October 9, 201510 yr He's very active manager, his faces and actions during games say it all. He's playing attacking football, so I think we will have a tough fight for the 4th-3th spot this season.
October 9, 201510 yr Spuds a good lad, always been a decent poster. We all love Spud he's a great lad
October 9, 201510 yr For the sake of all mankind lets hope klopp becomes a flopp at that dispicable rat eating bin dipping c##t of a club....

October 9, 201510 yr Probably the least amount of pandering I have ever heard from a new Liverpool player or manager in their opening statement. I have a horrible feeling about this. Klopp is going to improve Liverpool immeasurably. Anyone fancy a crack at his starting XI?

Klopp is going to improve Liverpool immeasurably. Anyone fancy a crack at his starting XI? If/when every player is available to Klopp, I presume he will go with his tried & tested 4-2-3-1 which was so successful at Dortmund. Lots of pressing and high intensity. They'll score more goals, that's for sure. But they still have that dodgy defence.

Klopp is going to improve Liverpool immeasurably. Anyone fancy a crack at his starting XI? Minge-Olé Clyne - Skrtel the Turtle - LOLovren - Moreno Can - Henderson Milner - Coutinho - Firmino Benteke I reckon he'll look to start off by going back to basics with a formation most sides are using rather than taking the Rodgers route of trying to "out tactic" * the opposition * © Sam Allardyce
October 9, 201510 yr If we're using his Dortmund side(s) as a template, then I would agree that he'll probably go for Lovren at centre back. Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel seem nailed-on, as well as Coutinho (Kagawa) and Firmino (Reus). A couple of questions though (and considering the number of decent permutations there are, I'm not surprised Rodgers tinkered with the formation so much): He seems to like having one aggressive DM, which rules out a Milner-Henderson combo. My thoughts are that he would use Lucas (maybe Can) as an analogue for Bender. Bad news for Milner as I can't imagine they'll shunt the club captain out of position, and playing at centre mid seemed to be one of his main motives for joining Liverpool in the first place. Does he start Milner wide (Kuba) or go for someone like Lallana who is a more natural winger? Another question I would have is how he would fit Sturridge and Benteke, who are both more than good enough to start (assuming both are fit) and would theoretically form a decent partnership in a system with only one striker? Earlier in the season I thought the formation which would be best-suited to Liverpool would be a 4-diamond-2 or a Christmas tree, depending on who is or isn't injured. Theoretically he could mimic Simeone's aggressive yet solid 4-4-2, but that would mean shunting Coutinho wide and lumbering him with defensive responsibilities he isn't particularly well-suited to. I am very interested to see what a guy as sharp as Klopp does with this squad.
October 9, 201510 yr I'm far more interested to find out how he plans on utilising Adam Lallana's beautifully moisturised face.
October 9, 201510 yr The press loving his 'I'm the Normal One' line. Yeah it's hilarious, just like it was in 2007 when Avram Grant said the exact same thing. I'm so bored of any question the media make about this..ever since Jose said it first time around, it's been used as template for so many other press conferences...think Jose has been asked 'are you still the special one now' umpteen times...really exposes a lot of journos lack of imagination and ability to ask proper questions.
October 9, 201510 yr A couple of decent articles in the Guardian, although a lot of the questions raised in the former have already been discussed here: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/09/liverpool-jurgen-klopp-tactics-exciting-combination http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/09/jurgen-klopp-arsene-wenger-liverpool-arsenal
October 9, 201510 yr Another question I would have is how he would fit Sturridge and Benteke, who are both more than good enough to start (assuming both are fit) and would theoretically form a decent partnership in a system with only one striker? Might see Sturridge return to playing on the right wing like he did at Chelsea? It's square peg, round holing a bit but surely you would rather play both him and Benteke than not?

October 9, 201510 yr BREAKING: "Liverpool fans getting impatient as Klopp enters second trophyless day" Klopp spoke to the media, telling reporters, “I thought the fans were joking, but the moment I signed the contract one fan looked me in the eye and said, ‘So, have we won it yet?’.” Edited October 9, 201510 yr by Blueblur
