Klopp Watch

BREAKING: "Liverpool fans getting impatient as Klopp enters second trophyless day"

Klopp spoke to the media, telling reporters, “I thought the fans were joking, but the moment I signed the contract one fan looked me in the eye and said, ‘So, have we won it yet?’.”

Yup, it's the water all right.

seems like a great guy from the presser and looks like a bit of a joker too, just a shame he's managing liverpool. their fans are going to be unbearable once again  :laugh2:

It's such a shame. I really like and rate Klopp but to see him as Liverpool manager is a real mix of emotions for me. Do I hate him? I can't, he's so charismatic!

This is a dilemma.

A manager obsessed on charisma to one of the most actual charismatic managers around. Couldn't make this up.

Klopp makes it very difficult to dislike him.

3 year contract, apparently £7m a year.

Huge money for managing a side that doesn't have Champions League football and has no guarantees of qualifying next season either.

Plus £7m to Brendan as a 'goodbye'. £7m!!

Bugger, he's too much of a nice guy to be Liverpool manager.

This feels like a crisis: he's too nice and normal. I'll have to focus on disliking the team despite the manager.

Game changer that's for sure.

Not at all. Except for the scouse loving english meeja who will spray their wordy jizz all over his designer glasses.

Would love to see this headline at the end of the season.

Kop stops as Klopps flops face drop.

So Lpool will be the same, or worse with Klopp than they were with Brenda?

If he's able to get the defence sorted out and to replace the g/k, and if he can buy players he likes and not just those that the transfer committee like, he should do well. Liverpool have (I think) the 5th highest wage bill in the PL; there's money there to build the squad and Klopp has some experience of success at the highest level.

If Liverpool have ambitions of winning the league, they will have to get rid of the following

Skrtel - how he keeps his place is beyond me.

Sakho - truly awful

Lovren - hasn't worked out

Moreno - very poor defensively.

Mignolet - terrible

Milner - never good enough to start

Lucas - poor

Lallana - complete waste of money

Keep

Coutinho. Best player by miles

Clyne - very good right back

Joe Gomes - lots of potential

Henderson - probably wouldn't start him but he's decent enough.

Benteke - Klopp will manage him way better that Rodgers

Ings - decent back up player

Sturridge - if he stays fit he's excellent

Firminho - he is a classy player but struggling to Dapt to the league so far. Klopp seems good with players like that.

A goalkeeper.

2 new centre backs.

A left back.

Klopp will sign his strong hard tackling midfielder, that's for sure.

He likes width too, so I could see 2 wide players being prioritised.

Liverpool are a long way off a good enough team to challenge thankfully but Klopp is an excellent appointment.

Hard not to like the guy, even if he manages that lot.  Some beauties on our buddy RAWKMeltdowns page....

Doesn't quite fill the hole left by Rafa, but it's close" is a favourite.

Think Klopp would need to fill up on Mars bars to fill the void left by that fat Spanish prick

What about Can?

Seems to me that Liverpool will be preparing a grocery list of Dortmund players for the next two windows.

Sort of like what they did with Southampton.

That might not be a bad thing. Lewandowski aside how many Dortmund players have left the club to huge success? Even Gotze isn't the player he was at Dortmund. Sometimes players work at a certain club, in a particular setup and they can't do it elsewhere. Veron was a great example of this.

Why is everybody going on about Klopp being a nice guy? I clearly haven't been paying enough attention when he was at Dortmund, and that's coming in handy now. Boooooo Klopp!

Good point.

Who knows? Maybe having a manager whom these Dortmund players are familiar with, may get them on form.

Hopefully, that never happens.

Pretty much this. I don't think that Brendan did too bad of job. He just couldn't sort the defensive problems.

My take is that Klopp will improve their tactical awareness drastically. They'll still make mistakes because Klopp's consciously opts for a risky approach. So defenders will keep on making mistakes, just for different reasons and maybe they will be less costly.

TBF Liverpool have a big squad and there are some players like Allen, Lallana, Origi, Coutinho, Ibe that Klopp will love to work with. So he will have plenty options.

It's going to be very, very interesting.  Klopp is a good manager, make no mistake about it.

Capello was a fine manager and look how that ended with England.  Van Gaal has come into United, spent a load of money - are we better than a few years ago?  I don't think we are.  We've got some good players but our football is still slow and predictable.

Villas-Boas did a fine job at Porto.  He didn't achieve anything of note at Chelsea or Spurs.

Scolari was a World Cup winning manager with Brazil.  Struggled at Chelsea after a good start, was eventually sacked.

My point is that there are no guarantees in football.  Football fans vastly underrate (Pardew) and overrate (Klopp) managers, especially on the internet.

What Klopp HAS done is make the L'pool tribe believe they're going to win everything again.  And this will make for some very dramatic reactions when things don't go their way.

Give it a year or two and it will be the FA's, the weather, the tea lady and their owners fault to as why they're still not winning the league.

It has been 9303 days since they last won the thing.  And the clock is ticking!

Agree, game changer.

With this Klopp media love in, they are so fickle, I'm hoping this will take a little heat off us, Jose mainly.
