well said dkw   I would love to see us win, not just by a poxy 1 nil,  but by a good old fashioned stuffing ... 4 nil sounds about right...  

 

 oh and although I would love to see us win the Champions League again, I would prefer (in my humble opinion), to get through to the knock outs and if we do go out at least do it with dignity to Real or Barca rather than drag it out in the Europa cup ..   anyway,   European games should not affect our domestic league results, with the quality and number of players in the squad we should be up with the best of em in all competitions at the same time..

I may be an outlier here but does anybody else doubt the tactics and reputation of Mourinho? He plays the same squad over and over again expecting different results. There is somewhat of a mutiny against him in my opinion I first saw it in the league cup game against stoke when he was trying to talk to hazard before the penalties (which hazard is our best taker) hazard shook Jose off as if he wanted nothing to do with him then missed the penalty, something he never does. Then the costa shakeup against tel aviv and the bench bib incident as well. Cesc is playing like a lost puppy out there as well as matic. I just can't shake the fact that Mourinho doesn't last longer than 3 years at a club there must be some question to that correlation. He was run out of Inter and Madrid by the fans . I honestly don't think he's the man to take us back to the top.

I really hope we go out and make a statement in this game, although unlikely judging by recent events. A dull 0:0 will do to meet the minimum requirement of qualification, but hardly an ideal preparation going to a month of intense domestic football. 

I think a solid 2-0 win.  Courtois making some big early saves and Hazard getting 2.  We need to drop Fabregas asap, still looks unfit (or maybe just slow) players just jog past him. 

I'de be happy with:

 

- Costa scoring

- Fab on Bench

- RLC in the starting lineup

- Kennedy in the starting lineup

God I don't know why am so nervous about this match like it's a cup final. Seems I will be happier with 3 points against Porto than against Leicester. It's still doesn't make sense somehow since the EPL is our priority

Well is its completely shattered! Would like to see some changes here and use this game (high tempo which it will be) as a testing ground for:

 

- Some youth players involved

- New Formation used (442, 451, 433, 352 etc..)

- New strikers

- A dynamic shift in tactics if its not going our way

 

The squad, tactics, moral, passion is BROKEN - Time to at least try and fix it with something NEW

I really feel 4231 isn't working anymore, We need attacking football. A formation change could make the difference. I'd like to see Hazard back on the wing for this game, he's looked better in recent weeks and Mourinho did give him a chance in the middle. I just feel we need to play a natural striker and after all the wing is where Hazard has played some of his best football ( see lille and last season for example). First time user, long time viewer thought I'd share my thoughts

It'll be down to the experienced heads tomorrow. I'd be stunned if Jose fields any youngsters (bar Zouma).

 

Biggest one-off we've played since the PSG game last season, and for me it comes down to five players:

 

Ivanovic, Matic, Cesc, Hazard, Costa. 

 

All bound to start in my opinion. If they step up, we win, they're all capable of being that good. If they continue the way they have been for most of this season, I can see Porto knocking us out.

 

Boils down to whether you still think they can cut it. I fancy them, and I hope I'm right.

Can we just explode in this match??? Massive massive match this one.

Biggest game of our season so far this one,with Kiev likely to smash Tel Aviv,Porto will have nothing to lose in going head on for the win.This game could actually give our season and the lads a big lift.

 

Or........the wheels could fall off.

 

I would start Costa if fit, because he might make all the difference........ or he could drop us right in it.I think it's a risk worth taking.

 

Either way we'll ( & Jose ) will know if he has a future at this club & if he does balls it up,the club just might then back Jose and give him the funds in January

 

for a replacement,even if it's short term.
