What if Chelsea get relegated?

If anyone stops supporting Chelsea if they get relegated then they shouldn't have a team to support, nobody would bring them fans in with open arms.

If somebody offered me the success we have experienced in the last decade in exchange for a season in the Championship I would have bit their hand off.

Sport is all about Ups & Downs and truth be told even in the championship we will have an equal chance of winning the Champions league as Arsenal.

In the premier league money era, a 'super club' has never been relegated, so it's difficult to tell what the impact would be.

How many of the squad would want to stay? How many top players could we sign?

The long term negative impact from us being relegated could be gigantic.

Well someone said above, Chelsea will just loan all the players to Vitesse. I don't know if he was joking or not, but if not then couple of things to say. A club is allowed to loan up to a certain amount of players, even from one club. Second, because of the percentage thing in championship. I think Chelsea can only spend 80% of the clubs total transfer money and 80% of clubs total wages. So that said, if you loan anyone out, you pay for players wages, so you can't loan a lot of the players out because of the 80% shananigans. But I'm right. In a sense if you get relegated you will lose your best players! Even so you still have enough of the transfer money and wages to buy the championship all you need mostly is a defence. And then the players you always loan out and our U21 can fit the rest

This is my how to make the best of a disaster scenario.

Arsenal finish 4th

We are relegated

We win the European Cup.

End result, we play CL from the Championship next season and Arsene's head explodes at the unfairness of it all.

Relegation is nothing to fear, been there when it's happened three times in my supporting life and can honestly say that the best days I had following my team were in the 2nd Division.

Bring it on.

carefree.

I've been supporting Chelsea since 1974/75 and so know what it is to be relegated and nearly relegated to Division 3 !

I never thought I would have to worry about it happening this season thought. !

We are now half way through the season and we have 20 points. Assuming we do not improve, which I am seeing no real signs of, that would be about 40 points for the full season. Baring in mind 1 or 2 clubs down near the bottom always go on a good run of wins toward the end of the season to escape the drop, if we don't pull our act together very quickly we could well be the one to drop down in their place.

Do you need me to copy/paste the league table or our form guide? Things aren't just going to magically click and turn out all right.

IF we get relegated, we'll still exist.  If you leave because we get relegated, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.  Only problem for me will be trying to find streams...

Leeds went down after being high up and in Europe.

I actually think there has been a slight change in that there seems to be a bit more hunger about the players and a togetherness. A few losses and that could all evaporate again, but despite the unchanged team selection, I'm optimistic of a few wins being strung together and moving up.

The players know it's on them now, and for that reason alone, they'll start to perform.

Also, the youth comment above was me being facetious.

I'm not against youth being playe . I'd like to see a few get their chance. Sometimes you get people going overboard, though.

We won't go down and won't finish in the top four.

I have no faith in this current squad. Severe lack of hunger and Passion for the club. Just gonna keep supporting no matter what. Chelsea has always been a roller coaster for me.

im fairly sure we will scrape out of the relegation zone...but that's about as good as it gets...its a crazy season sometimes in sport it happens the big clubs of the last 20yrs are struggling the lesser teams have used the benefit of the sky windfall very well buying players with good ability and attack minded coaches have reaped the rewards..that said we will surely make history as the worst team ever to defend  a title in modern times....but life goes on and as the song goes...things can only get better..........I hope

The likes of Brown, Loftus Cheek, Bamford, Kiwomya, Baker, Feruz, Kalas, Nathan, Kennedy, Piazon, Solanke, Swift, Ake, Chalobah, Wallace, Boga, Christensen. Will play. The Dutch team Vitesse won't get raided with loan players from Chelsea. But saying this it'll be annoying and sad because, Kalas, Bamford, Ake, Piazon are good enough to play in the premier league. And Wallace. But Chelsea has enough money to buy the league.

This lol. Saying that, might actually see the youths get some game time in the Championship.

I really can't comprehend getting relegated with the quality we have - OK yes at times we are led to question our "quality" after some shocking string of performances but still, we are miles ahead of Villa, Sunderland and the rest qualitywise. Nonetheless as the months are passing and we are still in the 14-17th position it does get worrying and makes me question whether we will even make it into the top half. I doubt relegation is on the cards but same goes for top four. I see us finishing 6-8th but that's only if we can get a few wins in Jan, as if we are stuck here any longer than that we will most likely just float around 10th-12th spot till the rest of the season.

Current table, since Mour fired team have collected 5 points out of the last 9, that's an average of 1.67 a match, lets pretend this form continues = 51 points well safe

Under Jose's tenure 16 games and 15 points, average per match = 0.94, if the team continues in that rich vain of form = 40 points, will be drawn into the mire

If Sunderland lose today it will help Chelsea's cause, then only have to worry about being sucked into 18th place spot, avoid the drop rivals it seems are Norwich, Bournemouth, Swans (why loan them a striker?) & the good old toon.

does any body else remember when we got relegated by that spastic play off system? and it kicked off so badly at the final whistle they binned the whole idea afterwards !!

if we do get relegated, will you just be able to turn up on the day and buy a ticket again

While I dont want us to get relegated, A part of me once wants to just so the players play in the Championship and are jeered by opposition taunts. As cruel as it sounds - I hope that is inspiration enough for them to find enough motivation to play hard for the rest of their lives.

New grounds to visit. No more glory hunter middle class pricks. Ship out of money grabbing players. No more premiersh*t cringey bollocks. It's a win win if we go down.
