How Many Points From Next 6 Games?

What would you take?

 

Watford    H          Win

M Utd       A          Draw

Palace     A           Draw

WBA        H           Win

Everton    H          Win

Arse         A           Draw

 

Pretty simplistic for me, if I got offered 3 wins and 3 draws I would take it. I think any mixture of results that give us around 10-12 points would be a realistic target.

 

 

 

 



What you'd accept and what you'd expect are different though?

I really cannot see us going unbeaten through those games.

Trips to Selhurst park, old Trafford (with LVG gone possibly) and the Arse. Tough games.

Actually i think you might see us win all of them it's possible now the players can express their attacking intent without fear



We have not been able to string 2 league wins together all season. We badly need results in these games. So what would I take?

Watford - win

United - win

Palace - draw

Wba - win

Everton - win

Arsenal - draw

Got to win your home games, and United seem there for the taking at the moment.

However what I feel we are likely to get

Watford - draw (possibly a loss)

United - Nailed on draw

Palace - loss (might nick a draw)

Wba - win (they are terrible we better win)

Everton - hard fought draw

Arsenal - loss

Yup my confidence remains low.

Lol well all the boys have to do to throw those predictions off is beat watford at the bridge. Should be simple right?

Then follow it up with another nail in lvg coffin and win at OT.

In theory we should go on a good run until the end of the season given the players have had half a season off.

Thats my opinion you may  not agree with it but what i saw yestdarday against Sunderland i didnt even see last season when we won the League. Little flicks simple one touch football just moving the ball quicker even though it was  a very poor Sunderland team you can only beat whats infront of you and we havent been doint that this season and from where we were first half of the season masive inprovement

With Mourinho gone, it just seems written in the starts now that we'll lose to Arsenal.

Thats my opinion you may not agree with it but what i saw yestdarday against Sunderland i didnt even see last season when we won the League. Little flicks simple one touch football just moving the ball quicker even though it was a very poor Sunderland team you can only beat whats infront of you and we havent been doint that this season and from where we were first half of the season masive inprovement

Fear of what? Fear of scoring goals? Getting dropped? Being sold? Fans turning on you? We did the same things at the beginning of the season against Swans. Oscar in particular didnt put a foot wrong for an hour till he got subbed off because of the red

If Hiddink is able to find a way to get the striker scoring goals, we should be able to win at least 4 out of these 6 games. Watford could be tricky, but being Hiddink's first game and the big game on boxing day, I fancy us to get a 3:1. United is there for the taking, they are playing awful football like us, only exception is one of their striker has some form. I won't predict each game, because every time I predict something positive this season, it came back to haunt me :face_palm:



Watford (H) 26th Win (coming of a 3-0 win against Liverpool Watford are riding a wave of confidence, and this will be a tricky game for us, I especially don't like the match up of Terry versus Igahlo which is how Watford will likely set up, I do think we will have enough for this game though as I think we will boss the midfield and with Watford employing a 4-4-2 there should be plenty of space for Oscar to pull the strings, expecting to see another MOTM from him in this game and a win to boot)  
 

United (A) 28th Draw (This game is a hard one to judge as if the mood at Old Traford is still very poor and LvG is still in charge it will impact on their performance, however wins against Stoke or the firing of LvG lead for a very different prospect against a team that is very hard to break down, a win here would really turn the tide, but a draw would be more than enough.)   


Palace (A) 3rd Win (Palace have a somewhat easy run coming into this game on paper, however playing against an inform Bournemouth and possession oriented Swansea side with a point to prove might be tiring on the legs as well as a blow for the confidence, however if they win these games they will be flying high and are likely to be in the top 4. For me this game is a lot easier if Wickham is playing upfront as he isn't overly mobile and should cause too much of an issue for our defense however if Bolasie is played up top or Palace play without a conventional striker that is a different kettle of fish and will definitely cause a few problems. I see Palace scoring but think we will have enough for the win.)  


Sc**thorpe (H) 10th Win (youngsters getting a run out)


WBA (H) 13th Win (we should have the fresher legs going into this game with West Brom having a much harder test in the FA cup against Bristol City, hopefully having picked up some form and confidence this game should well be the easiest over this period) 


Everton (H) 16th Win (Everton have a tough run in Janurary playing Man City twice as well as Tottenham with Man City mid week and an extra game in the Carling cup semi-final we should be the fresher side and hopefully this will be the difference. It might well be tough as Everton games usually are, but I'm still going for a win and the boys getting their revenge.)


Arsenal (A) 24th Draw (Over a week to prepare for this one so both teams shouldn't have an issue with fatigue all though it is almost certain Arsenal will suffer an injury or 2 over the festive period making this a hard one to judge. If Arsenal are still firing on all cylinders, which given there reasonably easy fixtures they should be, it will be a very tough game for us, however I do expect them to drop off and hopefully we are the start of that inevitable decline.)

This may seem a little optimistic especially with the form shown this season but I certainly think it is doable.

I'm going with 4 wins 2 draws and 14 points and should see us back into the top half of the table. P23 Pts 32

This season has been full of surprises lets hope the next big surprise is Chelsea rediscover some title winning form and making a run at top 4.

I think top 4 is gone but I think to have any chance, we need to catch United or Leicester. Leciester have showed no signs of slowing down but I expect them to start slowing down, much like Southampton did last year.

If they don't, it's United who we are most likely to catch who look in free fall. United won't let LVG carry on poor form and will likely get Jose in to see out the season.

You have to say, it's pretty unlikely we will catch them.

Well watford ended up being as I expected.

Ended a draw, though in truth they only had that 10 or so Min's that looked like they could win.

See if I am right for the United game. Hope not, we need 3 points. Mind you we need 3 points every game...

My prediction is that the new and improved Costa is now key.
