Don´t criticise Oscar, not today. He was pretty good. Was it Willian or Oscar who created more? I guess Oscar and he got a wrong footed player at his side.

Watford went through our two man anchoring midfield like a hot knife through butter at times in the first half, I hate to think what teams would do to us we've a midfield as lightweight as that.

You're missing the point. They came at us because we just punted it into their 3rd and had no way to keep it. With that formation the creative player have somebody making runs and they have to defend for a change. We were bad because we invited the pressure.

I feel like we play too narrow often as it is.

I think if we played a 2nd striker we'd be even worse.

Our wingers generally don't offer much width and look to play one-twos rather than get to the byline and deliver crosses in.

We've not really got the players suited to playing two up top in my eyes.

Certainly not if our left side is made up with Azpi and Oscar....

 

Mind you is not like we get consistent width and decent delivery out of Brana and Willian either...

 

So how could we best get width out of the team and play two up top with who we have left in our squad then...

He had a pretty good team though. This one is just some players. The balance of the team is all wrong. We need to back the next manager to build a new team.

Seen worse earlier in the season which always resulted in a defeat yet no one complained this much.

Difference is FSW inherited a better team, and one that had only had a brief blip on form compared with our current season. When Guus took over we were on the edge of the relegation zone. We haven't transformed back into a top 4 team but we are at least picking up points again. I don't expect we will do much better than 8th in the league. The damage was done in the first half of the season. Perhaps we put a cup run together if the players raise their game in those matches.

A point closer to safety, we played like a mid table team content with our lot. The sooner we get to 40 the better, our seasons future lies with the cups.

Would be a brilliant game on Sunday. 2 master Dutch tacticians trying to figure how to get a draw. Both of them should have retired and enjoyed retirement life.

Our goal is the FA cup and not to get relegated. Brilliant!

As much as we hate to face it, the 'good times' are over for at least a couple of years. Squad needs a complete overhaul with a new 'leader', that will take time. Obviously if we're not in Europe next season, that will make a big difference to the calibre of player we can entice.
Who know's what's going on behind the scenes, and what funds will be available for next season?

I don't really blame hiddink too much because the squad is in dire need of investment, but when you've got gamechangers on the bench and zero pressure, why not actually try and give the fans something to get excited about?

Either way, I can't be happy with performance, last 10 minutes is how we should have played for 90 minutes.

Jose was the same ... excellent bench selection but with absolutely zero chance of being risked = Tra, Kenedy, RLC, Baba.

What is the point ...

You could say the same that if his was under Mourinho some people would be going spare about playing for a draw, but because it's under Guus they seen quite happy with it.

Because they know we are in a holding pattern. With Jose there was real hope. With Guus, as nice as he is, it's just steady going.

True, but I think that this is probably the worst it's been in 20-something years? That's a couple of generations of Chelsea supporters going through their worst period supporting the club. Doesn't compare to the early-80s of course, but we're certainly in for a lean period.

I think Guus cost us there.  Way too safe in the second half and a very late sub'.

 

Irritating that we could've won that with the tactical shift caused by the Hazard sub' had we actioned it earlier.

 

Was that a clear message that 'ok' will do in the Prem' this season and we'll save our best for the FA/CL?

My 2 minutes rants:

 

Everytime we felt optimistic and had some expectations, the manager and players managed to f* it up. It's Watford for god sake, not the league leader Arsenal we were playing. Why the hell Hiddink started with 2 DMs, and worse persisted with that combo for 75 minutes. We didn't have a world class bench today, but still there were the player of the year from 6 months ago, capable young winger, striker, midfielder and attacking fullback. Yet only 1 late change and all others left to rot on the bench. Sure their GK made a couple of good saves, but we should have pushed a lot more and worked them over for much longer. If any players or manager talk up the top 4 chances again, he's just a big fat liar and fraud. The way we been playing, we were contend with a point more than anything else. This whole Hiddink's unbeaten run is way too over rated, how many matches have we won? We are playing like a team in bottom half, scrap off points and fight off relegation more than anything else.

Starting to really get f**ked off with everything lately, the performance of the players has improved lately, no doubt about that and Ive got excited about Oscar again as per usual he will let me down and go missing again. The main thing f**king pissing me off is playing a right footed left back, I don't understand why we would spend 18 million on a left back who is deemed unable to defend, for that the fault lies with the scouts but I don't believe that this player is "unable to defend" he is not going to get any better by not playing. I'm also annoyed at Hazard ever being dropped, yes he's been poor this season not as poor as being made out but he is the one player that will create that chance, we would have won if he started tonight, that cross to the back post was class and should have been a goal.

The second thing is Matic,I don't know what is going on but if he is not mentally strong enough to deal with this loss in form which I suspect he isn't then its no use and he needs to be shipped out, its a tough world out there and he's had more than enough time to try and deal with his problems, he's been worse since Hiddink came in.

Ongoing issues at club really annoying me, 4 year contract for Cahill, 1 year for Ivanovic and nothing for Terry. Terry is irreplaceable in so many ways and our problems will only deepen when he leaves as I've always said.

 

For the record I am yet to be convinced of RLC, yes I would love him to be our new golden boy but leave it out lads he will play when he is ready to play, I personally do not think he is busy enough around the pitch, Jose spotted this in a post season game last year

Do you really think we have any chance in CL/ FA cup with this group of players?  They clearly lack the quality. commitment and ambition to win anything. i think Jose achieved miracles when managed to make these players champions but making them play above their level.

Going to be hard ask with PSG/City up next that is for sure.
