February 3, 201610 yr Well that was a pathetic first half and not really any better second half. A complete waste of time for everyone and a waste of money for the fans that traveled. Matic should have come off at half time for Hazard and RLC should have come at some point for Fabregas who I thought was poor. Really disappointed with that display, absolutely no reason to be so negative and getting very bored of under performing players (Ivanovic and Matic again) playing the whole game.
February 3, 201610 yr And we god rid of jose for that !!! Omg talk about a yes man I mean he plays exactly the same players in exactly the same positions so whats the point in him even being there Disgusted The problem with Jose wasn't the tactics...
February 3, 201610 yr Author The guy who scored a hat trick at the weekend? Yeah. In the #10 position against MKD.
February 3, 201610 yr One of the midfielders? You can understand why people might think that though. That's what we would've done if we were in a race for the title. If Matic drops out you move Fabregas deeper and Oscar or Hazard go central. I don't get this clamouring for Traore to play, I've not really seen anything from him to suggest he's that good and should be getting any significant playing time.
February 3, 201610 yr Watched it at a pub with no sound, so first thoughts without commentary biad (I) We need to talk about Matic. He offers little defensively, loses the ball repeatedly and is very slow to react. What on earth has happened? (ii) The game before and after Hazard was night and day. Before Eden, Costa was plowing a lone furrow. Afterwards Costa was free ti play his natural game off thr last shoulder, the presence of Hazard drew Watford's attention and created space. A lesson surely- be more aggressive and we'll put "smaller" teams on the back foot (iii) Watford are safe, 4 points above us, and at home. Yeah they're the smaller team, but I found their time wasting at the end a bit strange and annoying. We were on top, but given our record in the last 15 minutes this season they had little to lose. Overall a point is meh. 8 points, effectively 9 points above Newcastle with goal difference. But says it all that I am still looking down rather than up. Man Utd this weekend- Hazard has to start in place of Matic in my opinion.
February 3, 201610 yr Utter f**king sh*t. Two abysmal sides miss-controlling and falling over and turning out lower division fare. If I want to watch that kind of football I don't really need a satellite subscription, I could just wander down the park on a Sunday morning. Maybe it's because I dared to dream that we were actually getting better that I feel so depressed after watching that. f**king hell. We are seriously in a mess. Fortunately the division has sides even worse than us so relegation should be dodged but by god, we are a million miles away form bothering the top four. I just can't believe this collection of average players managed to win the league last season. It's a bigger shock to me than if Leicester were to win it this year. I'd say I wish the season was over but I fear next season just as much.
February 3, 201610 yr Maybe you are right - but I think the manager is a coward! We need a manager with balls! Azpiluceuta is a right back not left back! Why start with Mikel and Matic against Watford? Why not attack this small team from start, Baba and Hazard on bench. And manager only makes 1 substitute - just 1 when we are being held by Watford?????? we have players with pace in Kennedy, Loftus and Pedro. Why cant a manager play 2 forwards?? Ivanovic offers nothing in attack and defense - yet he starts!! This is ridiculous and hurts!! I suspect Hiddink's balls are considerably larger than yours.
February 3, 201610 yr Wasn't a terrible performance imo - the team did their job well, individually and structurally. Watford were good and problematic physically and at set pieces but we stood up to that and ended up a little unlucky not to take the points. Midweek away to Watford isn't exactly the type of game we can expect to turn up and pass them off the park- football is shout more than that. As I say- my only complaint is that in hindsight Eden could've come on earlier. Shhhhh! You're not allowed to be reasonable around here. [emoji5]
February 3, 201610 yr Could you see Oscar scoring? Traore - Hazard - Willian More so than anyone bar Diego or JT I could, would have hooked Willian before Oscar as Willian was our poorest player tonight, a complete passenger in their final third.
February 3, 201610 yr To all of you doom and gloomers, it could be a lot worse. Gary Neville is currently watching his team get decimated by Barcelona. It's currently 7-0.
February 3, 201610 yr In the #10 position against MKD. He was on the left against MKD ot was RLC in the middle. Oscar did alright tonight, kept himself busy and cropped up with a couple of decent chances. Certainly had a much bigger impact in attack than Willian did this evening.
February 3, 201610 yr We need a jumble sale in the summer, but who wants to come here? I don't know and will Roman spend? I don't know, the thought of being stuck with the majority of this lot for the new season is depressing. Edited February 3, 201610 yr by Floyd25
February 3, 201610 yr these boys need to realize we aren't playing mk dons and arsenal every week, step your game up
February 3, 201610 yr If you have to tell people you're a passionate Chelsea fan then you probably aren't I guess you are very satisfied with this performance, caution and result! Ohh and also maybe have a degree in psychology??? Please next time state a football fact and not try to attack a person! So what's your football fact about this game???
February 3, 201610 yr Author Oscar should never play on the left, not with a right footed left back behind him. He just doesn't perform out there.
February 3, 201610 yr Watford set themselves up well and worked their bollocks off in the first-half. We don't have the players to deal with that so can't have too many complaints. But in the second-half it was clear to see they had dropped down a gear and Hiddink waits until the 70th minutes to make a change, and only one at that. It's pathetic to see where the club is at the moment that a point away to Watford is seen as a good one. The season's f**ked but surely we still have some pride to go for it when the opportunity presents itself. I suppose we're saving all of our adventure and ambition for the Champions League though.

I don't get this clamouring for Traore to play, I've not really seen anything from him to suggest he's that good and should be getting any significant playing time. Fantastic record in Holland, impressive for the under-21s and came on at the weekend and scored. The reason you might not have seen anything of him is that he's not been given a chance in the first-team despite us being in dire need up top.
February 3, 201610 yr Guus gotta take big blame for this one. Had all the room in the world down the sides, yet continued with Azpi, who hardly defended all night. Get an attacking FB on! Didn't make a sub until 73mins, whereby as soon as he does it we looked much more threatening. Why was Matic on the Pitch? he was playing as an attacking midfielder. We have so many better options than that. Far too negative in a game where really we had nothing to lose. Negativity shows he has given up on top 4. Shocking at the lack of opportunities given to players who genuinely offer something different and show desire. Fuming. As for whoever said its a good point. They can well and truly f**k off. Its Watford. Man - I couldn't have put it any better!! Been trying to say this all night! Happy someone sees exactly what I mean!!!
February 3, 201610 yr Two up front? It seems to work ok for Watford and Leicester. We've not played two up top all season bar chasing games. I can't see who you drop to accommodate a second striker and I think it would throw out the balance of our midfield.

February 3, 201610 yr Half challenge, half tackle, half passing, half effort, half vision, half passion, half drive, half desire, half discipline, half awareness, half bother, half the team turned up. Cheers, boys. I hope half of you lot will be gone in the summer. Yep, basically a half assed performance. Honestly, tonight was like watching Championship football or worse until the last 20 minutes. Terrible game of Premier League football.
February 3, 201610 yr We are going to get played off the park by PSG. It looks that way. We were outplayed by them last season so I dread to think what this tie will turn into.
