February 29, 201610 yr Can you imagine if that was my only reasoning? I just rate the lad and I think if we're not going to be building for the future now, rather than being prisoners of the moment as we have been for most of the last 12 years , then we're never going to do it. Abraham is a fantastic talent and is probably physically the most Premier League ready player you could imagine. It would be nice to see us use this young talent rather than developing them just so we can sell them. It would be nice to see him make it here, but there is a few players that are more deserving at the moment ie traore. Im all for traore or loftus cheek getting some minutes, but I think the likes of Abraham, da silva, etc aren't even close to the first team at the moment, so it is pretty pointless hoping to see them come on against Norwich. I'm all for planning for the future, but we can still win 2 trophies this season, let's give them our best shot. If costa needs a rest, then maybe the Stoke game at home would be a better opportunity, he hasn't had much change up against shawcross, or maybe traore, remy, or pato, would cause them different problems.

DaSilva is a completely different proposition because of his size. I love the lad but he needs bringing along slowly but Abraham is physically there. For the FA Cup I'd play the strongest team but in the league, we should be blooding youngsters and that's the problem with Hiddink. He's got no investment in the long-term wellbeing of this club and he probably wants to win a trophy so he'll probably do what you're saying. I don't think we'll win the Champions League and I think if we do it's just papering over cracks again. I know I'm probably in the minority but this club NEEDS to develop players like Abraham and Loftus-Cheek because they're the heart of any club. Losing JT just makes that all the more important because we run the risk of going into next season with no-one in the first-team who came through the ranks.
February 29, 201610 yr I still remember their game against Liverpool. They don't give up and I can see this as a very tough match. They know that we aren't at our best and the unbeaten run will over one day, they won't give us an easy life, but I expect from us to continue with our wins and unbeaten run. I'd like to see this starting line: ------------------------ Courtois ----------------------- Azpi ------------ Cahill ---- Ivanovic ---------- Baba ----------------- Mikel ----- Fabregas ------------------ Traore ------------- Willian ------------------- Hazard --------------------- Diego Costa -------------------- COME ON CHELS!!
February 29, 201610 yr Don't forget Papiss Cisse, another player who saves all his goals up for us. Will never forget the ones he scored at The Bridge and then he seemed to disappear into the wilderness only to score 2 more against us and end our unbeaten run in 2014!! I completely forgot he even existed

That's bold, I would quite say that yet, yes he is tall and isn't slow but he is still very wiry and probably needs to bulk out a bit before he is physically ready for the BPL, he also lacks the stamina to impact the game for a full 90 minutes. He is certainly a talent and probably wouldn't be massively out of his depth in the BPL (as he is probably at a much higher level currently than Rashford) but I would say he is currently behind Troare and even Solanke when it comes to overall ability. I think Abraham height will be a massive factor for his overall ceiling and he could potentially be the best of the bunch. I look forward to seeing him develop but I don't expect to see him much if at all this season being just 18 and with other youth prospects ahead of him in the pecking order.

You probably won't see him this season. Next season he'll probably go on loan to Vitesse whilst Solanke comes back to find a loan at a lower league team who, like Bamford, Chalobah, McEachran etc., won't play him because there's no incentive for them to. Then we'll repeat this Ugbo and any other young talent all the while losing that important thing that makes a club your's, seeing players come through the ranks. I honestly don't think people realise just what we're losing with JT next season but it's something that we don't seem to bothered about replacing.

Losing JT just makes that all the more important because we run the risk of going into next season with no-one in the first-team who came through the ranks. You also don't want to go too far and play too many youngster or even youngsters that aren't ready yet, bad individual performances set back development as it reduces confidence and may cause self doubt and bad team performances and getting hammered every week won't do anyone any good. So it all well and good wanting to play all the youngsters but you have to do it smartly and progressively. What I would like to see is between 2-3 youngsters feature in every league game from now to the end of the season, with Baba, Kenedy, RLC and Traore getting plenty of game time. with maybe the odd sub appearance for the likes of Abraham Dasilva and Aina towards the end of the season. That's the thing though. You probably won't see him this season. The thing is if they are good enough they will play, the problem now comes that the premier league now has soo much depth that even relegation candidates have top expensive strikers so it will be hard for players to gain experience on a premier league loan, with loans more being used for depth and in case of injury. However as Chalobah will tell you, you don't need to necessarily play to gain good experience on loan, and if there is ever a couple of injuries they will get a run in the side which is more than they would get here.
February 29, 201610 yr Baba should remain in the starting XI. How can you expect players to grow (especially ones who will be counted on in future important matches) if you just pull them and sit them after one mistake. Baba has added a dimension down our left that is not there when Dave is lb. I know Kennedy can play LB but he is waster there imo. If anyone should be dropped it is Hazard who is in shocking shocking form. With Pedro out though I think we will see a similar squad as to when Oscar came on, with the exception of Traore on for Costa. tibo dave - cahill - Ivan - baba Fab - Mikel willy - oscar - hazard Traore

Nat Chalobah? The player who is probably getting sold this summer? He sums it up - he had a fantastic loan at Watford and then we messed him around and set his development back to a point where he'll never actually reach the heights he could've. He lost almost a whole season of his development after that loan. This is what we do though. We take the slow approach, the careful approach and don't actually develop young players so maybe we should try something different.
February 29, 201610 yr Btw Kenedy is still Kenedy. With one 'n' in his name. Sorry but it is not that hard.

Yes Nat Chalobah the player that is probably moving to one of the top clubs in Serie A looking set for champions league football after being on loan there for a season and loving it, that one. He also had decent loans at Middlesborough and Reading with only one bad loan at Burnley and is still 2 years younger than Lingard.

How has he played?
February 29, 201610 yr looks like we will see Pato off the bench and perhaps RLC, reckon Baba will start difficult to predict any scorelines not only for Chels but th eleague in general going for an away win 0-2 courtois Dave Cahill Ivan Baba Fab Mikel Willian Oscar Haz subs used - Pato at some point, plus RLC & Kenedy if we are winning comfortably
February 29, 201610 yr I've not followed his time at Napoli that closely. How has he played? He hasn't really, only played like 3 games, but is loving his time there apparently.
February 29, 201610 yr Hiddink has said that Costa will be rested for the next two games and Pato will feature prob as a sub. Remy or Traore up front?
February 29, 201610 yr Would be a good idea to play Costa off the bench for this one ( if required at all). Traore needs a full game to reach his potential, couldn't asked for a better opponent ( apart from Villa). Kennedy should start, it's ironic he's no full time fullback, but I remembered as soon as he came on, there was no attack down his flank anymore. I think starting 2 youngsters are pretty reasonable for a game like this. Norwich are desperate for points, but I don't see they come out all guns blazing, 90/100 they will sit deep and tight and play for a opportunistic 1:0.

Will never forget the ones he scored at The Bridge and then he seemed to disappear into the wilderness only to score 2 more against us and end our unbeaten run in 2014!! Just need that fecker Kanu to come out of retirement to haunt us too
February 29, 201610 yr So, RLC signs a new contract, and Hiddink mentions that Costa will be rested, but Pato is able to play - just not a full 90 minutes. I could see us really mixing it up a little in the next few league games to give some of the lads some game time. If Costa is rested, I'd like to see Traore start and Pato or Remy come off the bench. Maybe Mikel start, and RLC replace him. Baba has to come back. Hiddink said he pulled him due to the mistake and it's up to the player to respond...so we have to give him an opportunity to respond immediately. I can't see JT featuring in this one either.
March 1, 201610 yr I see fab needing a rest more than anyone. He has to be good for the psg game. Matic and rlc could come in for mikel and fab or maybe just rlc Traore could start instead of Costa. I'd give baba another game but not much difference really between him and kennedy.
March 1, 201610 yr Three points would be nice but i think it will be tough.Hopefully our class gets us through.....UP THE CHELS!
March 1, 201610 yr I'd start with Baba ... after all, Jose continued with the same non-performing players continually and gave them every chance. Hopefully, Baba may bounce straight back. A must win for Norwich so I think this will be close. 1-1 ... but hopefully, the team clicks and we win 2-0.
March 1, 201610 yr After the Saints game, I'm expecting a win but its going to be tricky. Given Naismiths record against us in recent times I expect him to be a thron in our side again tonight. Team I'd like to see start -------------Tbo-------------- Azp Cahill Ivan Rahman ------Mikel--Cesc---------- Willian--Oscar--Hazard -----------Costa------------ Subs : Begovic Mizaga Matic RLC Kenedy Remy Traore Given we've Stoke at home and its closer to the PSG, I'd make changes for that game and play RLC, Pato, Kenedy and even Traore but we have to captailise on our recent good run and rack up a 3rd straight win and theres also the added bonus of leap frogging Liverpool for at least 24hrs if we do win.
March 1, 201610 yr Given what I have heard on Pato, I seriously doubt he can play anything but a cameo at the moment.
