Romelu Lukaku

Featured Replies

This move won't happen I think its like a 20% chance of happening. Sure lukaku wants this move because he is a chelsea fan and for that it would be a great player to have. But I think this will happen. Costa stays Lukaku wont come.

Bleacherreport article is questioning why we didn't nurture the talent. I'm pretty sure Lukaku himself wanted out and we granted his wish. It is not like we hold players against their wish. Stupid point.

Sticking Remy in the deal possibly according to Sam Wallace at Telegraph.

Everton accept he wants to come back he claims, but they're evaluating their squad balance. Which is why we want to chuck Remy in

Completely fine with adding Loic Remy to that deal. They would probably like that too as he could do a good job for Everton.

Just get it done.

So you are all for not nurturing or for letting players dictate their terms?

I understand that an unhappy player is not a good player to keep around but why not extend his loan or put a buy-back clause. Not to mention, why could we not convince him to stick around and compete for his place at the club like RLC has done? At his age, he should have been convinced to stick around.

He easily would have been the second striker off the bench in a tittle race. It would have been a great experience. At the very least, a buy-back clause should have been placed on his sale.

But he wouldn't, Jose showed more faith in a 33 year old Eto'o and 35 year old Drogba, Lukaku was clearly not favoured by Mourinho and at the time it looked like he'd be our manager for a significant amount of time. Which is why he wasn't convinced to stick around. Also Lukaku at 20 had already had a successful loan spell at WBA (as far as i remember he was 20 or 21) and had been in our squad for a season, like RLC currently.

We can get into money, but at the end of the day, we'll be taking about a 40 million quid hit on him, which is about the total we would pay for any striker in today's market.

OMG...65million + Remy.. :wtf: ..the f**king entire boardroom is stark raving bonkers............well I guess it's not my money, I shovelled it in during the late 60's and early 70's.   Let's hope the boy does well on his second coming and Roman keeps taking the tablets! :smiley_crazy:

Jesus just has a look on twitter and basically all of the chelsea fans are against it and even one of the accounts is called #f*ckofflukaku

I don't think it's the 'player' per se, just the valuation

No because he posted a video of his terrible touch for Belgium and said that he couldn't be arsed anymore

Tbh never heard of him. What club does he play for?

I don't know much abotu conversion rates.  How does that compare to the reported £67.5m?

Just me or does anybody else find it hilarious when people ask questions like these on a forum (presumably because they're interested in the answer) but would rather sit and wait for the person to reply as opposed to simply googling it for themselves  :laugh2:

Haha. Never crossed my mind to use Google at that point in time. Still haven't, thanks for the suggestion.

I woke up to read the gossip columns and almost had an aneurism!

£65m + Remy, for Lukaku you've got to be f**king kidding me and they want £75m.

There's no smoke without fire, there's been a lot posted about it.

He is never worth that in a million years, he wasn't that impressive when he played for us the first time round when he got a chance. He suits teams that aren't going to dominate and there will be space. We don't play against that.

If we have that kind of money to p!ss away, we'd be better matching United for Pogba, he's not worth it either but he's certainly the better player in their position and more suitable to our style of play.

But hey ho it's not my money, it has another Torres written all over it.: hope I'm wrong though.

The manager doesn't rate him at all!
