Romelu Lukaku

i might be a bit too optimistic (and a bit hopeful) here, but this Lukaku to United just doesn't make sense to me. we know Lukaku is a Chelsea fan, why would he throw this opportunity to play for the club he adores? second, Jose is the reason why he left Chelsea (the club that he loves) in the first place because he wouldn't trust him, but now he wants to work with him? doesn't make sense

i might be biased in here, but it's really possible that this is just a ploy from Everton to crank up our offer. the last two weeks or so we've gone quiet on this front probably because we were trying to bring down the price, but i guess Everton is having none of it

the second (and worse) possible case is that this is his agent once again trying to have a big payday, and that we overestimate how much he is a fan of Chelsea. if this is the case, it really is the epitome of modern day football, where money is more important than anything else, even your own conscience

We won't win in a bidding war Or that we should enter it in the first place. Utd don't have to spend too much on players while we are reportedly involved in several negotiations. Say we pay 77m, then Utd will go 78-80m, they've paid more for Pogba and Woodward have a tendency to overpay anyway. Lukaku could make a fuss but his agent is the chair throwing Mino with a bigger ego.

You will just need to lump it I'm afraid.

The EPL clubs make an absurd amount of money from TV and sponsorships so this is the result.

The recent inflation rate towards EPL clubs is astounding seeing as Bayern, Barca and Madrid had money for years and clubs only fleece them on proper WC talents. For Everton to want to fleece clubs on a player who hasn't proven anything on the continental/international stage Is too much for me.

It's already started, this is from Pogba's instagram

I think they are trying to look cool, but they just look ridiculous

They think they're straight outta compton but they come off as that douchy kid in highschool whose parents have too much money and neglect them

Pogba wearing a bandana on his forearm.....

Guys a mess

Don't you know that's to stop the bleeding from the bullet wound he got from rolling with Crenshaw at the weekend.

Well it's up to Everton on what bid to accept. With Rooney moving there in a few days I can't see them wanting to piss them off.

I expect him to move to United regardless

I wonder how much Lukaku has a say in all of this.
It's obvious that he wanted to go back to Chelsea.
It's not over till the fat waiter sings...or manages Newcastle.

How can anyone rate Rooney anymore today just confuses me. The guy is beinh paid 300k p/w to get out of people's way

To even have the gall to offer him to a rival team and the rival team accepting it is almost twilight zone stuff for me

Players like Totti age like fine wine.
Players like Rooney age like a bottle of WKD left out in the rain

Tbh I think United want shut of rooney anyway, so I don't think it will come down to that. It will be down to Lukaku. I still see him going to United though, especially since he is with pogba, United are also heading to l.a., and perhaps most importantly, his greedy agent will be pushing towards United.

If we have matched the bid, you would have to assume Lukaku was 1st choice, missing out on our top target would be more disappointing than the reality of not having Lukaku in the the team.

We could've made this offer weeks ago and Lukaku would've been a chelsea player before pogba and co had a chance to turn his head.

If Everton can get crazy money for Lukaku, then why bother wasting it on Rooney's wages ? He's done, they can get someone younger and better with that money. Rooney won't replace Lukaku's goals, he's never been a prolific goalscorer and it's not going to start now that he is entering the final years of his career either. If anything, Rooney will hold Everton back from challenging for a top 4 finish.

Not sure if you guys remember but Raiola used to manage Hamsik, he tried to force a move away from Napoli and in the end, Hamsik himself had enough of it and sacked him.

one thing is true, if he does join us, big IF,   you watch the media and Utd hacks all backtrack like cnuts

They'll go "Lukaku was the smokescreen for Morata!!"

Too many smokes over there at Utd, I wonder if their clubs on fire or Woodward's a** considering how shambolic their transfer window is shaping up to be prior to this Lukaku hijack story

Because the narrative of this 75m deal for Lukaku to me is a ploy to negotiate an even cheaper deal for Rooney. No one on Earth would pay that sum of money for a has-been

If it's totally Rom's choice = Chelsea, without doubt. Loves the club

If Raiola throws his considerable weight into it = Utd

Ultimately it's up to the player. The agent, no matter how powerful and persuasive, cannot force him to sign. I'm glad we did this (if it's true), because now Lukaku has to decide what's more important to him, he can't hide behind Raiola anymore.

I dont know if to feel confident or not that he would choose us over Utd

im not too confident just simply due to how late it is.  Although possible.

He'd choose us if raiola let's him choose
