Romelu Lukaku

Tbo's gone from an ungrateful loud mouth to a loyal absolute lad recently. Seems to be fully committed to Chelsea long term now. I particularly like how he publicly slapped those Madrid rumours down back in January. :laugh2:

Any idea what Rom texted him?

Rom: "Tbooo!!! How's the weather in London? You must be enjoying your new league title."

Tbo: "Yeah Rom it's fantastic. Great weather, great city, great season, great title, chance to f**k Arsenal in the arse soon. What more can you ask for?"

Rom: "So hang on a minute, when do you lot get your medals?"

Tbo: "That should be on Sunday mate"

Rom: "Can I come watch?"

Tbo: "You can either watch from afar or come get your own medal next season mate. Choice is yours. This is going to be my 3rd already. I love my life!"

Rom: "f**k me."

Tbo: "Think I overheard someone at the club saying they might go for that Spanish w**ker from Madrid in the summer."

Rom: "What? No, f**k him! He hardly even kicks a ball, the wet haired tosser! I've got to do another interview then. Got to find me another journo to rant to. I really miss London."

Tbo: "That's the spirit, my man. Life is beautiful. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a new contract to sign. Cheers!"

Lukaku helps with the home grown quota as well. Happy days.

Major plus point. With JT and Begovic gone we will be low on home grown and associated trained players.

Makes me think we should find an English backup GK that can make that up. Pity Hart wouldn't fancy our bench.

We already have Blackman

If Pogba cost 90 mil, 70 mil really isn't that much for Lukaku

Pogba has more potential that Lukaku for sure.

The problem I have with Lukaku is his attitude. When he was first here, everyone was pretty much touting him to be the next Drogba (which he still could be) but his attitude seems awful and im not sure if he can ever live upto the king.

If I were Blackman, I'd laugh at that. Absolutely no reason he should be sitting on our bench when Championship teams would jump at the chance to play him week in week had. He had over 50 appearances this season if I'm not mistaken.

That was in league 2, what makes you think championship sides would jump at the chance to play him?

Even if you have to overpay slightly - you have to go for Lukaku.  Already tied to the club - the tradition with such players at this club - the right skill set for the league, proven scoring record.  We need him, and frankly he's got Chelsea written all over him.

What's everyone's thoughts on Daniel Sturridge as a backup striker?

Klopp doesn't like him and he's almost third in the pecking order at Liverpool. He'd be second choice here but I think he would play a lot considering how many games we will have. We need a deeper squad if we are to contend on all fronts. He could also play as a second striker in a 3-5-2 and would add greater flexibility to our squad. People tend to forget how good he was for Liverpool in 2013/14 because he was overshadowed by Suarez.

Obviously there are question marks surrounding his fitness but he was actually match fit for a large chunk of the season. He was just never selected on game day. I think he would complement Lukaku well. Two ex Chelsea boys firing us to CL glory ;)

What's the point of having a back up striker who's injured for more than half of the season? We'll be just fine without Sturridge.

No, thanks ;)

He's barely been injured this season. Just out of favour. And because on his day he's one of the best strikers in the league.

Theres a reason we got rid of him, a reason that Liverpool have now seen also. So no. Never. Not ever.

I understand the sentiment but we should only bring emotion into transfer dealings if it involves club legends tbh (Drogba 14-15). I'm sure most mid table PL teams would jump at the chance to sign Sturridge if Liverpool put him on the market. He needs to find himself again. Not sure we have the patience for that right now. That time is better spent developing one of our own like Abraham.

The bold bit says it all, as far as I'm concerned.  There was a reason we sold Sturridge.  There is no reason why we should buy him back.

Quickly, delete this before @pacquiao sees. It goes against his 'Conte hates Lukaku' agenda.

He seems to not have posted for a few days. Went on his profile and he defo has been logging in but maybe the mods have seen sense and banned the clown. Just look at his avatar. Lukaku 36 thing which a lot of people won't understand. Has a lot of growing up to do. This was a same guy I was having constant debates with last season in the other forum about Kane being a very good striker and he disregarded him as a one-season wonder. Not worth taking seriously.

Who says Begovic will be gone?

I get nightmares thinking of Lukaku as our lead striker.

This is like the John Stones situation all over again.

I hope some other club ** Man City ** is stupid enough to do us a favour again and save us from ourselves.
