I think I'll be physically sick if we pay 80m for Lukaku.

 

I know it's not my money and I've used that argument before but this would be Pogba at 89m a steal.

 

We could get a Aubameyang, Kane, Griezmann for that sort of money or slightly more and they're all better players.

 

Absolutely ludicrous to think we could spend that money on him, even taking money out the equation, I'd still prefer Morata just as a player in general.

the way i see it, kane isn't the only goalscorer in spurs side, whereas lukaku pretty much is in that everton side. spurs have a lot of creative flair which helps a hell of a lot. it our team lukaku wouldn't be left alone up top, and would have the help of hazard and pedro/willian or whomever else we sign in an attacking/playmaker role.

I see your point but I'd be surprised if we go into next season with Batshuayi as first choice, his goals have been scored when we're on the front foot. If Diego leaves we'll still need a CF who can hold up the ball and link up play during transition from defence to attack. Will have no complaints with either Morata/Lukaku (preferably Morata), Batshuayi and maybe Llorente (ideally Dzeko).

YUp. I remember that.

Dont know which season it was, but Kane had a very poor start to that season. And this guy just kept going on and on and on about how Kane had scored 1 goal in 12 games or so.

Yes, On April 15th Lukaku was on 24 goals and Kane was on 20 and in his final 5 games Lukaku scored 1 goal and that was a penalty! Whereas Kane stepped up and scored 9 in his last 6 games! Lukaku bottled a 4 goal lead! Embarrassing to even try to defend him!
