August 31, 20169 yr For me it will always be 2004/05 - 99/00 was my first season and I barely remember the FA Cup win that season (I was only five) so 04/05 was my first taste of real success as a Chelsea fan. The feeling of finally winning a trophy at Cardiff against Liverpool and the ecstasy of seeing us win the title at Bolton are unforgettable. So I'm very interested to know what other seasons people on here enjoyed the most - the two I think my Dad enjoyed the most pre-Abramovich were 76/77 and 83/84. August 31, 20169 yr Yep I think 2005 Championship too. We'd waited so long for it and I remember the excruciating wait for it to be certain. Couldn't believe it was actually going to happen. But 2012 was pretty good too
September 1, 20169 yr 83/4, after 5 years of relegation, skintness and all round desolation at the club we came good at last. John Neal was given a bit of money to spend and did he spend it well, Dixon, Nevin, Spackman, McLaughlin and Niedzwicki, they gelled as a team straight away and the good days were back. Personal highlights of the season were beating Derby 5-0 on the opening day, Brighton the week after, Pat Nevin's dance against the Geordies and of course promotion day and another 5-0 walloping, this time against our old chums Leeds. Despite all of the good stuff we've seen in the past 20 years or so this season will always be the one I look back on with the fondest memories. COME ALONG, COME ALONG!!
September 2, 20169 yr For me 83-84 still remains my favorite season....my 1st season of going every week with my dad....great team & kit! And the players use to come over to the benches before the game & sign stuff....loved it! Edited September 2, 20169 yr by jim hamilton

Wasn't that our first ever live league match on telly? Couldn't get to it because of it being on a Friday evening, work commitments stopped that one, but got drunk watching it at a mates house.
September 3, 20169 yr I think its an age thing & circumstances which dictates your favourite season, i've got three, 1st 83/84, while i was only a kid aged 13/14 to see us finally having a good season & winning the league meant i could actually go to school & give it back to the Liverpool/Man Utd/Arsenal/West Ham & Spurs kids after years of having the piss ripped out of me for our relegation & basically being sh*t & div 3 fodder. 2nd 88/89 By then i'd been going to away games for three years so to be able to do most games home & away that season & the fun that came with it is right up there for me, i had a personal family tragedy during the sept that season & i swear being able to go to games & take my mind off the grief for short periods really helped. 96/97 I had a st, our team, our flowing football, royal blue kit & white socks, ending with our first trophy win for 27 years still gives me a buzz thinking about it. The obvious choices are 04/05 first League title & 2012 CL win, while they are up there my personal circumstances at those times meant i was on the outside looking in so i didnt get the same sort of fun in actually going to games those seasons, i did a few home games & the odd away & was in Munich ticketless, i'd probably feel different if i actually experienced the games as a match goer.
September 3, 20169 yr 83/84 was first season I started going regularly and all the previous seasons of having the piss taken out of by mates were wiped away by jonny Neal's boys, remember watching the Fri night city away game on tv and being amazed by the numbers and noise on the tv from our away support, Nevin running to the touchline to tell our support not to invade the pitch after we scored. The following morning I took ages doing my paper round as I read every report in all the papers as I went round. So its 83/84 for me, followed by 2012 for obvious reasons.
September 3, 20169 yr The fact that the 83-4 season gets mentioned by so many tells you how memorable that season was. So many reasons for that: the fact we'd been in Div 2 for 7 out of the previous 9 seasons, being nearly relegated to Div 3 the year before, seeing so many new signings from lower league clubs and unknowns from Scotland all gel so quickly and perform so well, having so many unforgettable big games with our support as good as it's ever been, the impact made by Mickey Thomas, the rapport with the fans exemplified by Joey Jones, seeing the excitement build every week as promotion drew nearer, the 5-0 promotion party v Leeds, clinching the championship away at Grimsby. It was one high after another. 32 years have passed, there have been unbelievable highs with the Gullit and Vialli eras, the record-breaking 04-5 season under Jose, the joy of winning 4 titles, the incredible night in Munich, and yet a season back in the old Second Division still stands out as one to cherish. If that's hard for fans under about 40 to understand, you had to be there!

Yes the first ever live Friday night game outside the top division. When we bought our tickets at Stamford Bridge we were told to travel by club coaches and not the specials as there was a suprise after the game. I only missed Boro and Barnsley away that season. When we went to the hotel after the game we realised why we wheat by coach, so we could get back to the bridge just in time for the buses and tube to be running to get us home. Great night, great season

September 3, 20169 yr Yeah 2004/05 then 1983/84. With an honourable mention for 1996/97. We won the FA Cup in 1997 and the last time we'd won it was 1970.
September 3, 20169 yr 11/12 for me, i became so obsessed with the CL ever since we beat Arsenal in 2004. I was so desperate for us to win it, and then the way we won it was just insane!

Never will forget those moments Edited September 3, 20169 yr by robdog
September 3, 20169 yr From a personal level either the 97/98 or the 98/99 seasons. Had a strong bond with most of the players, I was attending matches regularly and we played some good football. The 97/98 season probably shades it. Went to Wembley for the first time for the Charity Shield against United The cup winners cup semi final against Vicenza at the Bridge is one of the best games I've ever been to. League Cup semi final against Arsenal, 2-1 down from the first leg, Vialli's first game in charge I believe. Robbie D scored a scored a screamer.

I loved that team, Luca, Franco, Wisey, Desailly, Super Dan, Leboeuf. Brillaint football and everyone seemed to like us aswell. The cup winners cup was amazing. Tromso in the snow Lol. Good times
September 3, 20169 yr For me there was just something super special about 96-97. Probably because it was the first time I ever saw us win anything at a time when winning things was something other clubs did. But also seeing the joy that was Zola, plus Wise, Hughes, Petrescu, Di Matteo, Leboeuf, Vialli, Newton et al, sexy football, THAT game against Liverpool, Robbie scoring in 42 seconds, even that Coors kit has never been bettered since. That was the season that really got me hooked on Chelsea, The next couple of seasons with that group were fun too, winning the Cup Winners' Cup and the League Cup in 98 and almost winning the league in 98-99 (thank you very much Steve f****** Guppy).
September 3, 20169 yr @Englishman you always remember your first time. 1970 for myself, supporting the club is great ,winning with them usurps everything.

Amazing unforgettable away days that were always an adventure in there own right. Obviously munich was a one off high that will never be beaten, but as a whole 83/84, was my chelsea era when i was never more proud to be chelsea.
