He should have stuck around and we should have done more to keep him or at least a buy back clause but we didn't. He wasn't a fantastic player at that time but rather a rought around the edges talent.

I agree he wasn't the player he is now but for someone rated highly as a talent that is flipped off pretty quick because Mou doesn't like attacking players who aren't fullbacks at the same time you MUST put in a buyback clause, it's just poor business not to, I was mou's biggest fan, now the dust has settled he has done a lot of damage this time round, I blame the players for the slump but he has had a big hand in our what now seem to be long term problems

Not digging anyone out here, but interesting to read opinions we had do de bruyne at the time...I was happy we made so much money in him at the time...obviously a few of us look like mugs now

The kid looks good but not great, although he has plenty years to change that.

Am not entirely convinced, although if it were my club and money, I would exercise the option and buy him back.

Thorgan is some one for the German League. Gladbach is not so far from his home. He gets his chance. Plays good. The fans like him. He's happy. Takes his progress time.

If we do have the buy back clause (that was reported when we sold him) i think we should be bringing him back. He has done very well in Germany but more importantly it could help us ward of what I think is the inevitable offer from madrid for Eden sooner or latter

Where would he play in this formation ? He isn't getting ahead of his brother that's for sure. He won't be picked ahead of Matic or Kante either. He also isn't a winger so he can't take Pedro's position.

I can't see this one happening.

Activate the clause, sell him back to BMG with a new buy back clause that gives us first option within two years on an increased amount
