December 11, 20169 yr I really don't like this idea of subbing hazard, of all people, with again, of all people, ivanovic when we just had a slender lead... The decision not to start cesc in this sort of game is totally lost on me.. We didn't look like scoring all game apart from 1 moment that we did score.. All thanks to 3 people, cesc, mcauley and of course diego costa for that very moment.. I was ready to take a draw (enough to still be on top) given how the game panned out so to get 3 points and extend the gap to 7 points to our most likeliest title rival is massive.. given me a good factor feeling..
December 11, 20169 yr It made me laugh how during the game the BT commentary was saying 'you feel like this is the sort of game they have to win to be considered favourites', ignoring battling back against Spurs, City away, then blowing away United, Everton, etc.! Still, glad we could get the win and keep up momentum. Truly brilliant from Costa out of nowhere, and a great result considering the challenge.

I'm sure they said the same after every game we have won on this run of ours.

They definitely have, it's getting a bit worn out! I've no doubt they'll keep saying it until we either lose, or eventually lift the trophy. I just enjoy the fact we keep winning and making them have to grudgingly admit we're doing well.

December 11, 20169 yr Very good performance to get a result from a team that will take points from a good number of the sides in the Top 4. Costa has been fantastic this year - I don't know what Conte said to him or how he's motivating him but it seems to have wonders. He is enjoying is football and has really change his approach to the game. I think Conte has got the tactics right for this game as well, I just think that people don't realize how good West Brom are at shutting down teams. I think playing Fabregas instead of Matic would have left us exposed to the counter and also the long ball that was being applied, which is how West Brom get most of their goals. Pedro and Hazard were to be used as the creative sparks to open up the defense. However, once it was clear it will not work, the change of tactic and formation was applied to the team, I'll concede that it should have been done a bit earlier.
December 11, 20169 yr Good win against a proper pain in the arse team, such an incredibly negative manager pulis. Diego again beating it, what a season hes having. I disagree with those saying not starting fabregas was a mistake, we needed to battle the midfield initially and fabregas thrives on space behind defences, so he would have been wasted playing against broms defence which sits ridiculously deep and gives no space. So a difficult win against a difficult side, onwards and upwards.

Love him or loath him ( he once threatened to electrify the 12' fence he built to keep us oiks off the pitch) he is the reason we aren't here today watching a live stream of random folk living in their deluxe apartments.
December 11, 20169 yr A real relief to get three points from that one. Felt like a real banana skin game before the match, and even more so during it. Costa is the best.
