December 13, 20169 yr The trip to Tyneside to play Sunderland has been a tough one for us in the last few years. Last we time we beat them up there was in 2013, so I'm not taking this fixture for granted despite Sunderland being on the bottom at the moment. I don't expect Conte to get complacent for this fixture. It won't be easy especially with recent improvement from Sunderland, but I think we need to push for an early goal and attack early rather than sit back and start slow as we have in the last few weeks. Still think we will win in a hard-fought game, but I wouldn't be shocked if we drew to them. Prediction: Sunderland 0-2 Chelsea Edited December 13, 20169 yr by Jezz
December 13, 20169 yr I definitly agree that Conte should consider starting with Fabregas against Sunderland. He is still really good at unlocking the opposition and he is also on a bit of a roll with assisting Costa again. Yes, he will never be ideal for a midfield two but i think he can do a job there against Sunderland. I mean, he was rubbish last season but who wasn't? And he was absolutely fantastic in his first season here. Edited December 13, 20169 yr by Sindre

I'm a huge fan of Fabregas and before Luiz returned i would have had him or Dave as my choice for JT's successor as captain

December 13, 20169 yr Thankfully we won't be facing Borini and his annual performance against Chelsea. Will be a very tough game and I would be tempted to start Fabregas; he can unlock any door and won't be overrun in the middle as he was against City because mainly they'll be playing long balls to Anichebe and hoping he can knock it down for Watmore/Defoe. Let's get that tenth win!!
December 13, 20169 yr In that press conference at 15:56 it sounds like he says 'In the pasta' which I laughed at far more than I should have, because Italian. I love Conte.
December 13, 20169 yr drinking game : drink everytime conte says "i repeat" surprisingly, only once in today's pc! chelsea tv just showed the highlights of last season's home game vs sunderland (first game post jose sacking) wow we really did booed the sh*t out of diego and eden lol kudos to them for still sticking with us ungrateful pricks even after that Edited December 13, 20169 yr by havelschayes

We have Luiz, Kane Matic and costa on four yellows. i just hope kante and matic dont get yellows in the same game or we are f**ked. Also it is obvious that luiz is our only ball playing defender. Iwe need to buy a defender in january

Let's get that tenth win!! Watmore is out for the season, done his knee in the other week. It'll be Anchiebe to Defoe and both are in decent enough form. Anchiebe can bully the toughest defenders too so its going to be interesting to see how we cope with his size and pace.

Sunderland are playing with only one more day of rest, so I don't think that will make a difference. They have been terribly unlucky with injuries. They've lost another player as Watmore tore his ACL last game. Based on the few games Sunderland games I've seen, they give up when they go behind. They competently held off Arsenal until Arsenal scored, and then the floodgates opened. Against Liverpool, Sunderland played well, even better than Liverpool at times, but once Liverpool scored, they gave up. I expect the crowd to roar them on and their fans and players to try to wind our players up which, unfortunately, isn't so hard to do.
December 13, 20169 yr Sunderland are playing quite well at the moment, I think Moyes is starting to get his ideas across much like Conte at Chelsea. Don't think it'll be a particularly easy game for us. I can see Anichabe trying to bully Luiz after seeing how he struggled with Rondon at the weekend. Will be interesting to see how we fair if Sunderland continue playing 4-4-2... off the top of my head I can't remember if any team has started two forwards against us since the switch to three at the back? I'm interested to see if Pedro starts or Conte goes with Willian who he's clearly keen on giving game time to based on how early he has been subbing him on. Papy against Diego? LOL
December 13, 20169 yr Anichebe is a f**king shocking footballer and it's a genuine mystery as to how he is still in the Premier League. Therefore he will definitely score against us tomorrow.

I also wasn't being serious in my previous post, I knew you two were (kinda) joking. but the point still stands, it's what I observe from some of the posters anyway, seeing that this is a midweek fixture and we're entering a very crowded weeks, I think we should rest a few starters. here's my lineup Courtois Azpi Ivan/Zouma Cahill Aina Cesc Matic Alonso Willian Costa Hazard so a rest for Luiz, Kante and Pedro. Luiz probably still recovering from Aguero's tackle, evident in the last match where he clearly wasn't as focused as usual. Kante hasn't been rested for months, so a day off is due. and lastly Pedro was very so so in the last two matches, maybe tired, maybe not, either way dropped for Willian Edited December 13, 20169 yr by magichat
December 13, 20169 yr Looking forward to the trip tomorrow. I hoping for an easier win than my last trip when we won 4-3. Up the Chels!
December 13, 20169 yr does not matter how crap this lot are playing, they always seem to save one of their games of the season for us. Hope we smash them up.
December 13, 20169 yr Wow - thanks Everton! OK so we go into this game knowing that a win puts us 6 points clear at the top of the table. Bring it on! COME ON CHELSEA!
