Happy that we got the 3 points but we made very hard work of it and I'm disappointed Conte didn't put Bats on. The guy needs games and we looked rather toothless and I wouldn't want Hazard missing too many games as we miss that creative spark and don't look anything like as threatening.

Two quality saves by tibo. The difference between our win or the loss we may have taken. Thought kante was also very, very good. As was Azpi and Cahill.

Everyone else... They made it far more difficult than need be.

not the best performance but a win is a win, match showed how much we rely on eden, bit worrying that

was about to give motm to cesc but that thibo save jeez, literally saved extra 2 points for us

10 wins in a row, up the chels

If we beat Palace this weekend and Arsenal and City draw we will have 8 points on Arsenal and 9 on city, Liverpool have an away derby as well, these should win games are must win if we want to take this title charge by the horns.

We havnt looked convincing since the everton game but we have managed to get the results, lets hope we can regroup and start blowing teams away again.

I actually thought we looked convincing today, we just didn't get the goals. On another day we score 4 or 5. We completely dominated the game and Sunderland were dreadful.

Well sunderland are dreadful, our game control was good but we were so toothless it was unreal, players looked tired mind you.

Brillant outcome, despite a pretty tame performance. It's funny a rock bottom team like Sunderland could just turn on the performance of the season against us, and it's not even April or May yet. To our credit, we did enough to win it, especially Tibo saving us at the end, that's why shot stopping GK comes first, passing GK comes last. Fatigue has definitely kicked in, the movement and fluency were missing for most part of the game, minus Hazard obviously made us a lot weaker. Costa was good as usual, but he was knackered in the end, though we could have used the other striker with 15 to go.

From United to LPool to Arsenal to City, they all have not double but triple if not more firepower up front compared to us. I fear we'll start to be too conersvative, believe that all we need is a group of hard working players, and that'll be our downfall.

They also concede a lot more goals than us.

Yep. Also we have the joint top goal scorer in the league, and Hazard has scored more than several Liverpool and Arsenal players including Coutinho, Firminho, Mane, Walcott, Ozil, etc. I'm not doubting their attacking strength, but I think we have a certain amount of strength ourselves. Granted, we should've won by several tonight, but on another day we do. We took apart United and Everton and showed some clinical finishing against City, some games you just have to grind out!

Hazard got a rest, no-one went nuts, Courtois made a world-class save, joint lowest goals conceded, top of the league, still top of the league at xmas, Willian got a decent amount of game time, (he's really only at about 70-80% just now,) 10 in a row, playing as a team, grinding out those horrible wins, beating the class teams.

Life is currently good.

I don't think we were conservative, just didn't have enough firepower to finish them off with our fatigued bunch. On another day with Hazard in the team, would have finished them off with about 20 minutes to go. The subs were meant to protect the lead, I guess at that stage bring on another striker would be brave, but pretty stupid if backfired. Conte had the confidence in his defence to see it out, and fortunately they did.

Well well 6 points clear before Christmas

who'd have thunk it

my sprouts will taste all the more sweeter this year.

I think West Brom and today highlighted how much of a force we could be if we had another player on a similar level to Hazard. Slot a Sanchez or a Greizmann in for Pedro or Willian, and I think we take some of those chances.
