48-team World Cup 2026

Argentina look competent rather that a good side though they may improve, yet Messi is crucial for them. It was a niggly match and could have been several cards in an EPL match.

Norway looked decent going forward though had some unexpected help from Mendy's weak arms and Senegal were decent going forward, Jackson did not impress though Saar's first goal of his brace was good and his second was decent too.

And should have had a third.

I don’t think there will ever be another player that will have the big stage impact that Ronaldo has had from being an 18 year old and pretty much uninterrupted through to being 41 and scoring goals at a World Cup. Like him or loathe him, he’s an incredible athlete.

I despised CR7 at Utd, but then I despised that whole Utd setup to the core.

Ever since his Madrid days through to this World Cup though, he’s just an absolute marvel. Probably the greatest personification of a winning mentality in professional sports.

You should have said ‘in a global sport’.

And an arrogant, self-absorbed twat. Messi proves you don’t need to be.

Nice of them to haul out Jerry Rawlings' corpse for the game, plus he gets to sit next to our very own gormless wonder JT. I suppose the USA have experience of their heads of state having somewhat cadaverous qualities.

Ghana players are big, strong, athletic. Quick in the tackle, have pace, are disciplined and are good in the air.

They would destroy CFC's first team.

I would love to compliment Tuchel on his 'constant criticism' approach of man management towards Jude Bellingham. It's clearly working and it may just contain an outbreak of f**kfaceitis that even Ancelotti was powerless to quell.

Unfortunately, I know that it would be a lie. It's just because he's not Ruben Loftus-Cheek:

The Tuchel U shape is back.

James looks like half the player he used to be.

Why did Rice take that free-kick?

Madueke playing ok.

Bellingham looks the most likely to do something though a stupid challenge late on.

The winners so far are the Ghanian defence.

Corners why not try a man on the front post to head the ball backwards into the mix.

And Messi has now proven that he can do it in more than one country, just like Ronaldo has done throughout his career. Of course the fines had to be repaid and the suspended conviction served from his tax evasion case first but PSG and Inter Miami still count, I suppose.

Never forget the HGH he had to pump into himself to stay on at La Masia.
