I love Tuchel for that UCL trophy, but he made a mess of this selection. Nothing justifies the absence of Palmer. England do not have a player like him in the squad.

Agreed. You have to call a player like that even if not to start every match.
Now, none of this matters... 😁 WC starts in the knockout stage where not conceding becomes extremely important. Leaky defenses go home early.

Same sh*t from England. One good half against Croatia and then it's back to the same crap. We can have the best coach in the world leading this team, but it won't make a difference. This country produces and hypes up too many cowardly players and bottlers. They pretend that players like Saka are these generational talents when they're not. Imagine how deluded some fans have to be to think this team is on the same level as France, and Kane the same level as Mbappe. I would trust Haaland to drag his team over the line more than I would with Kane.

Rogers and Rashford did well on coming on, Kane missed a gilt edged chance.

The ref did not add time for the last sub.

Pickford could have seen red he did not play the ball, turned his back, he panicked.

The other incident with Rogers, he did not get the ball though less likely to have impeded the player like Pickford did.

People are taking the piss claiming Madueke played well, right?

The only people thinking he played well are those that only watch football when England play. They must have thought just seeing most of the ball means he played well. The only player on the pitch who was worse was Gordon.

Swear he's cost you that last two World Cups

The poor shot against Croatia that went straight to the keeper in the semi final in 2018. He could have passed that one for a tap in for Sterling. I know it's always a risk with Sterling, but even so, the pass should have been made. Bottled a penalty against France in 2022. He's definitely a Spud, that's for sure.

Then when it's all over, the country feels sorry for themselves and pats themselves on the back for being losers. We're embarrassed further when bottlers like Southgate are treated like the greatest this country has ever produced. If anything, Southgate is the poster boy of failure.

Trouble with criticising Kane is it can make you look silly.

Times I've done it in the past only for him to then score a goal or two. But the fact is, at times he is a complete passenger. The whole side was poor last night and he was up there with the worst performers (although surely that has to be Madueke).

But like Ronaldo for Portugal, will TT ever take him off when we need a goal as he scores goals even when playing badly?

I think we got away with one.

Still in a good place though we need to win the next one because if Ghana beats Croatia we might just go into a harder path in the tournament.

I thought Madueke did ok, better than Gordon though still not as effective as we might have hoped, put in a great cross once on the left.

What got me was why we did not put in more crosses with having both Kane with Bellingham running into support. Instead Kane was surrounded by three defenders.

Got more exciting with Rogers and Saka on as they moved the defenders around more though possibly this was also because Ghana was more stretched by trying to score themselves.

We also need to sort out free-kick specialists, James struggled with nearly all his crosses and Rice did not impress either. We also need some variation to test them not the same repeatedly being headed away.

This Canada v Switzerland game has been largely terrible, but Canada’s goal to reduce the deficit to 2-1 was maybe the goal of the tournament so far.

Not the best of teams but i quite enjoyed it.
