As for Kvaratskhelia, he moved just last season for €70m on the back of a Serie A league title and Player of the season performance.Diomande just isn’t a £105m player, and trying to sell a player for 5x what you paid for him after 1 season is nuts.I disagree on Doue he was excellent last season and showed his talent at Rennes. But my point is not the exact players but the type of players we are now looking at are of a lower standard than in previous seasons. You could easily replace Doue with Hazard, or Kvaratskhelia with Havertz. Point being we aren’t even in the race for the top talent anymore. Feels like the drop off from winning the battle for Caicedo to now is massive.
Monday at 00:044 days Cape Verde are a fun watch. They gave it everything. Some great moments - the momentum swings during the match were brilliant.

Was hoping for a draw pre-game, but Poch sets his teams up well.Hopefully Turkey and Paraguay can draw to each other to keep us 2nd.Indeed, although, a creditable thing given this is the US's supposed best-ever side, at home, vs one of Australia's least experienced/worst.9 minutes ago, DarkMata said:I disagree on Doue he was excellent last season and showed his talent at Rennes. Feels like the drop off from winning the battle for Caicedo to now is massive. We were in for Doue at Rennes (we signed his brother for Strasbourg) and Barcola at Lyon, long before PSG was interested. But BlueCo went for other targets. Lucky our first options of Mudryk and Neto have worked out unquestionably well.
Monday at 00:094 days Cape Verde - another top performance from them - maybe they should have had a penner right at the end?

Players like Valverde, Guler, Calhanoglu who are used to teams rolling over at the mere sight of their teammates have had to work, and come up short.
Monday at 12:194 days I watched Belgium take on Iran.Belgium were poor and Iran solid though more defensive. The Belgium chaps just could not configure decent chances and the ones they did they hit over, don't know the story on Doku (have heard two different ones) yet he looks a big miss. De Bruyne is not the player he was and for a spell in the second of about 10 minutes looked like they might score as they up the tempo and then he was taken off. After the sending off of the Belgian defender Iran looked more likely to score.Entertaining rather than a good match. Also just watched the highlights of NZ vs Egypt and looks like Egypt are no longer just the Salah show yet with Marmoush and Trezeguet have some decent finishers so the 'old man' dies not have to do it all on his own. Egypt now lead the group.
Monday at 17:424 days This Argies look like a tribute to and celebration of the greatest footballer ever. They are all working for him. To be fair it doesn’t look cheesy.
Monday at 17:574 days Argentina have big support in the crowd.Messi gets the goal though he has made a couple of mistakes and not just the penalty. At times they have played very cleverly and at others Austria's press has stopped them. Argentina look more dangerous would not be surprised to see them get another.

I feel sorry for Clichy and Giroud who have had to work alongside him.I'm probably biased as Emma is ex-Chelsea but she is one of the best pundits around.I know she's a CFC ladies legend and she is very knowledgeable and usually good value, but just lately have found her pretty cringey. She hasn't been helped by the way ITV are using her, but now I tend to go and put the kettle on when she appears! Edited Monday at 18:074 days by Nibs

Monday at 19:564 days Emma Hayes sounds half asleep at times and that message the other night was cringe. Enzo was anonymous again tonight.
Monday at 21:183 days It’s a World Cup where the big stars are turning up. Another great strike from Mbappe. Just a pity France haven’t got a better kit if they’re going to win the tournament. Worst French shirt I can recall.
Monday at 22:053 days Why the f**k don’t we just play the WC in suitable countries. Qatar was a joke so are these lightning protocols and hydration breaks(add breaks). There’s a reason why we have never hosted the Winter Olympics.

Monday at 23:513 days Iraq Vs. France continues and they have cancelled the 'hydration break' in the second half.
Tuesday at 00:233 days I don't think I have seen an international tournament where so many of the best players in the game are turning up.
