There are no guarantees in football. No llayer comes with a guarantee if success, if we are waiting for that player we might as well not buy anyone. Yes its a lot of money for a young player, but we will never get a shot at him again thats almost a guarantee. Really, can you tell me then what happened to James? Wasn`t he the next big thing? How much money Real spend on that guy ?

So much money for a guy who is just a potential is a waste. You never know what can happen. I have always been against such sums.
Just one injury and his career could be very much over for top football.

Thats quite the definitive statement from someone who claims that "you never know what happens".

Would you rest happier knowing the owners get to keep more money in their already fat bank accounts? Because thats the alternative. Its not like if clubs all secide to spend less on players the rest goes to charity. Prices are obscene these days as there is soooo much money in football, 130 mill isnt that much for a club like Real really. Like you said they bought James for 80 and it didnt leave much of a dent

Well, there's always the safer route of buying cheap players like Djilobdoji and Hector.  Maybe even make a bit of profit if they don't work out.  Potential and ability be damned.

But they can always turn like Torres and James or Pogba right? Cause at superb best Pogba is not worth more then 50mln.

We get Hazard for a little bit more then 30mln. Same with Mata, same with Costa, less for Kante ....

So there is plenty of good players, who are not at the last step and need to be helped to do that last step and their price is not that high. We need to focus on this players.

And i was never for buying cheap, but there should be limit. You can pay the price 3x time of his real one.
Okay Mbappe is a great talent, but Hazard was great talent too, and for me he showed greater potential then Mbappe, and we get him for 30mln. Hazard back then was having his 3rd successful season in a row. And Mbappe have just 1 good season and someone here say pay 130mln. for him. That`s ridiculous.

And Mbappe have only 15 goals in the league, for god sake our bench Batshuay scored more in France - 17 ...

Not that their exactly the same type of player, but ...

There's something called inflation and if you expect prices to hold from five years ago when hazard signed till now, I would call this delusional.  A hazard like talent would easily exceed 100 million pounds in today's market.  What are we? Some cheap Charlie like Arsenal? Hell, even Wenger has thrown 118 million quid to Monaco for Mbappe.

No, the price is high because 1, he is a once in a generation talent 2, Monaco wont sell and he is under contract and 3 teams like Arsenal, United, Chelsea and Real who have interest him are making A LOT more money then they used to and 100 mill isnt gling to bancrupt anyone. Uts literally peanuts. Yeah we bought Haz for 30 mill. Today the price would have been at least 100. What do you think Kane would cost? At least the same.  Imagine if our board decides not to purchase Hazard because the price was three times what we pid for Lampard and we should only look at players in that price range

I would rather spend 100 mill on this kid then 70 mill on lukaku

Just realised we tried signing him when he was 11. 

I'm not comfortable us spending this amount on him though. Our history with big money striker signings haven't exactly panned out.
