We get Hazard for a little bit more then 30mln. Same with Mata, same with Costa, less for Kante .... So there is plenty of good players, who are not at the last step and need to be helped to do that last step and their price is not that high. We need to focus on this players. And i was never for buying cheap, but there should be limit. You can pay the price 3x time of his real one. Okay Mbappe is a great talent, but Hazard was great talent too, and for me he showed greater potential then Mbappe, and we get him for 30mln. Hazard back then was having his 3rd successful season in a row. And Mbappe have just 1 good season and someone here say pay 130mln. for him. That`s ridiculous. The only reason Hazard was £32 and not £60m was because he had a buyout clause. Most top clubs in Europe were after him and without a buyout clause he would definitely have gone for a lot more. But also sums in football 5 years ago were much smaller than now. Yes, you had Ronaldo at £80 or £90m, and Torres at £50m, but those were the outliers - £30m was a HUGE sum at the time and I heard the same arguments from scousers - "you're paying £32m for potential?! He's not worth £32m!!"
June 7, 20179 yr He does look destined for greatness. If you can afford it then why not. I'm just not sure we can afford it. At that price he has to start to an automatic 1st choice. I don't think he is ready to play up front on his own, so he needs to play in a 2 or out on the left. We don't play with a 2, or at least we haven't used it regularly, apart from when we are chasing a game. We also have hazard on the left. Unless we are changing formation next season, which is a possibility, we would be breaking the world record to play a player out of position. Judging by how we have been setting up, I'd be happier for us to spend big on ousmane dembele, who I think like mbappe, is destined for the very top of the game.
June 7, 20179 yr Samdwich i disagree. In 2004, 2005, 2006 we spend plenty on 30+mln. for a lot of players. City do this also. So 30mln. back then was not high. And as far as i remember Lille back then wanted fee arround that price. United back then was offering 25 or 28 for Hazard, and then Fergusion said he is not worth the price and they give up from him. But even with today prices, the price for Mbappe is insane. And it`s not fu**** worth it. And atleast to me Hazard back then > Mbappe today. That`s my opinion. And im pretty much against such sums. It`s shows in the summer that you can make great transfer hit with a lot less. Kante for example. If we look a little bit back then also Costa, Suarez(when Liverpool get him), Mata(the price we get him), Modric and so on. You can get the players for a lot less if you buy them in the right time.

And Mbappe have only 15 goals in the league, for god sake our bench Batshuay scored more in France - 17 ... Not that their exactly the same type of player, but ... The price is so high, cause of the media and that they put Real Madrid name and then the price is always high. Back in 2004, Hazard would have cost 12m at that stage of his career. The market inflates as the years roll by although the inflation over the last 3 years has been insane.
June 8, 20179 yr And still we get Kante for less then 30mln., right ? :D While United payed more then 100mln. for Pogba. It`s how you make it. Edited June 8, 20179 yr by brakeit

June 8, 20179 yr Arsenal aren't going to spend £100m on one player. They wouldn't even spend that on 4.
June 8, 20179 yr And still we get Kante for less then 30mln., right ? :D While United payed more then 100mln. for Pogba. It`s how you make it. Kante's was a release clause Leicester had placed on him after signing him for £5m the year before. If they had known he'd end of being a monster of a player on this league, I'm sure they'd have made it a £50m release clause.
June 8, 20179 yr Not sure why anybody seriously thinks Arsenal can get this kid. They deliberately bid below Madrid's bid for a reason. It's all for show to get their fans to buy season tickets. By next week there'll be an "Arsenal end interest in Mbappe" story which coincides with their season tickets being sold out.
June 9, 20179 yr Real Madrid want him which means dont know why anyone else is bothering. No chance he goes there at this point of his career. Needs to play. Sanchez seems to be on his way to Bayern.
June 9, 20179 yr I don't see mbappe giving up champions league football. I think he still stay at Monaco.
June 9, 20179 yr I hope for his own sake he stays with Monaco for another season. As good as he is and his incredible potential, I dont see any of the top clubs drop their star striker for him. Do I trust him to be the leading striker for Chelsea next season? I have lots of doubt. He needs to play, no point sitting on the bench after a world record transfer

We all know that but the lure of so much money for him and his agent and the prospect of Real Madrid is so hard to turn down. This chance might not come again.
June 10, 20179 yr With sales to Morata and James, I think it's safe to say that Madrid will be breaking the new transfer record this summer

I think wenger sees a young Henry and wants to try and relive some old glory, but they need a lot more than 1 player so unless they are spending 300 million I don't see this happening, probably just a ploy to keep the seasons ticket holders on the end of a string, but to be honest arsenal would be a far better move for him than real at the moment, all that pressure and leading their line at 19, won't happen and he will sit on the bench, be sold 2 years later for half the price. If he takes ronaldos route, PL football, develop then go on to a team like real it would make more sense, as for us no chance we will go in, not proven or experienced enough to lead the line and too much to sit on the bench.

Players do. costa apparently wanted to leave because of the media treating him worse than Satan. Same for Suarez. Torres sh*t form was a lot because of his confidence and the consistent media bashing WILL have played a massive part. Torres's poor form was due to the fact he is a fundementally sh*t footballer.

June 13, 20179 yr had a few doubts about whether mbappe could lead the line on his own, as I've only seen him play off falcao. After seeing his movement second half tonight, he would be great up top for us. This french side look like they will go on to win major tournaments. Hopefully we can pick a few more of their stars up, and zouma can get himself into the team. Mbappe would be a fantastic bit damn near impossible signing, as would dembele. Hazard Mbappe Dembele front 3 would a dream attack.
