Monaco are simply milking it, and would be hoping to sell him for 150mil euros (not kidding). Sorry, but no one is worth that much. Can buy a squad with that. Edited June 2, 20179 yr by didierforever

There are other strikers who'd be a lot cheaper and can serve us well. Like I said, it's not the end of the world if we don't get him.
June 2, 20179 yr I'd be worried about spending that much on Mbappe. He looks destined to be a star (if he isn't already) but he's one injury away from disaster.
June 2, 20179 yr Supposedly turned down a £87m bid from Arsenal. If i were Monaco I'd take the money and run. He's 18 and had one full season, it's crazy money for someone with so little experience and no clue yet as to whether he will keep improving or plateau early.
June 2, 20179 yr madrid and city got their £105mi bid rejected last week so they make a £87m bid pure arsenal logic

He's out our reach imo We are Chelsea FC we can get whoever we want in world football...as long as Real, Barca, Bayern, PSG, Man City or UTD don't want them, won 2 PL titles in 3 years last English club to win the CL I guess being 7th fiddle isn't that bad

He is the next Hazard to come out of France, it's not hard to see why he is so highly valued after his performances in CL and ligue 1. It's rare you find such an intelligent striker at his age, who also has lightning pace, great technique, dribbling skills and finishing. I just hope we make the next bid and it's accepted.

June 3, 20179 yr Why is it that every other teams football forum who are in for Mbappe is full of fans relishing the prospect of signing him for however much their team will pay. But on here and the other Chelsea forum you're all worried about how much he'll cost! Are you lot flippin' serious????
June 3, 20179 yr Yes we are very serious. because it's Chelsea and the media is a biased piece of sh*t.pogba can go games without providing an impact yet not a peep, if one of our costly transfer goes through a rough patch, it's all doom and gloom. we have been bitten twice with Torres and sheva and we understand how much pressure the fee as well as the media influence can create on the players. 120mil pounds for an 18 year old who has had one full pro season is downright stupid. If pep,the media darling, buys him then it's building for the future.if Chelsea will buy him, then its "spoiling the footballing world" every time mbappe goes a match without being on the scoresheet, we would be getting articles and hue and cry in media about his poor form. So while I understand the talent he is, I can also understand the opinion of Chelsea fans
June 3, 20179 yr Well if you choose to give a sh*t about what the media say that's your problem. That is no excuse for not buying a player. As long as we keep filling the trophy cabinet, what the media think is irrelevant.
June 3, 20179 yr That's the point mate. I don't give a sh*t about media. Players do. costa apparently wanted to leave because of the media treating him worse than Satan. Same for Suarez. Torres sh*t form was a lot because of his confidence and the consistent media bashing WILL have played a massive part. Also, please read and try to understand what the other is sayinf
June 3, 20179 yr I have read plenty thank you. So what you're saying is, we shouldn't bid for Mbappe just in case he's hounded out by the press?!
June 3, 20179 yr to be honest, even 87 million is too much for him. he was the 5th top scorer in the french league ffs. i mean balotelli got the same amount of goals as him and gomis scored more lol. the overhyping is a joke, it happens with too many young players. Edited June 3, 20179 yr by enigma
June 3, 20179 yr Yeah, lets not act like Pogba hasnt gotten a TON of stick from the media. Even a few days after his dad died, english media were cracking jokes on his poor run of form. This media has an agenda against Chelsea thing is getting a bit lame. Yes you have media darlings like Pep and Klopp (even Conte I might add) who seems to get more leeway, but all in all they are relentless c**ts to just about everyone
June 3, 20179 yr The kids has scored 26 goals this season, including 6 in the champions league helping his team to the semis. Also he has 8 league assists. Not bad for an 18 year old. Normally I'd say the best thing for young player's like Kylian is to stay at his current club and develop for another couple of years. However in the current football climate of 'buy now before your rivals do' we have no choice but to jump in for him now before he's snapped up by City or United. Maybe the best we could do is buy him and loan him back to Monaco.

This is the amount of minutes they used to score a goal or create an assist, wich is the most important. 76,25 Cavani 77,67 Lacazette 74,53 Falcao 113,22 Gomis 65,22 Mbappe
June 3, 20179 yr Folk said the same thing about Rooney at 17/18 when he moved to United. He had scored less goals than Mbappe, didn't have CL experience but more than 10 years back commanded a world record free for a teenager at around £30 million. Sometimes you have to pay a big price to land the brightest talent in football. Someone will and it's all about risk and reward. Fees are going up all the time due to the money in football especially in England. Not long till the £70 odd million is seen as not ridiculous, just the way it's going now. Edited June 3, 20179 yr by Chelsbear
June 3, 20179 yr With the money in question its a risk for sure, but lets be real. Just the money we got from being on TV last year would cover his transfer fee, add in what we sold Oscar for and thats his five year contract sorted. The club raked in an insane amount this year. Its not going to put much of a dent at all
June 3, 20179 yr i'm not saying he can't be great, but nobody can be certain because young players with potential have been touted as "the next best thing" so many times and their form tapers off. who knows though, real madrid just paid almost half of that for a 16 year old ffs. the money thrown about for the next superstar is mind blowing.
