Is there even one tangible link right now to this guy?

The bookies have been steadily dropping the odds of him joining us, skybet currently offering 6/4 he stays at Torino, 2/1 AC Milan, and Chelsea 5/2.

Serious question..would you guys be willing to Splash 87m for this guy? If so Why?

I showed the YouTube clip to my 9yr-old grandson (who has Costa's name on his Chelsea shirt) and his exact words to me were “I want us to buy him if Diego leaves.” Not the most convincing of arguments in answer to your question, admittedly, but I sense he saw immediately that Bellotti has the same fighting spirit as his hero, a quality I've never seen in Lukaku, even when he was being compared to Didier in his pomp. That said, I'm not completely sold on Bellotti myself, although one thing I am pretty sure about is that there is no way Antonio would have had Lukaku on the top of any striker-to-buy list while there was the slightest chance of getting this guy instead.

I'm not suprised they are lowering the odds, we either start with an unmotivated Costa next season, or we are signing Belotti, Morata or Abumeyang. I don't think there is a chance we loose Costa and not replace him with someone of quality.

Well to be fair I don't think you should be looking at your 9year old grandson for convincing arguments.

Wouldn't it be great to have an Italian striker being coached by an Italian and Chelsea legend...

He'll be the only Italian in the team and it's been a while since we had an italian in the team iirc.

Good pub quiz question that. Who was the last Italian to play in a competitive match for Chelsea?

Wasn't Zola was it? I can't think of any Italian players we've bought since Roman came in?

EDIT:

Borini probably the last one?

Borini

But Borini had time to get used to England as he was integrated into the youth team. It has been a while since we bought an Italian from Serie A to integrate directly into the 1st team

How can you forget the great Marco Amelia? A club legend

Italy's La Stampa reporting we've launched a bid for Il Gallo

For how much? The president repeatedly stated that he wants 88m. Anything lower will surely not be tolerated imo

Nothing specific.  Simply talk of a "huge offer."

Most likely we tried negotiating something under the release clause.

Let's hope the board go with Conte's wish list and trust him to bring in the right player...reckon Belotti can be had for around £70-75m plus add-ons...

Can't we get a loan of 2yrs with option to buy at 88m? If he flops, we can send him back to Torino. It's not like Torino is looking to qualify for CL anytime soon

Atlético Madrid y el Chelsea llegan a un acuerdo esta noche Chelsea FC funcionarios en Italia para atar contrato de préstamo con Torino, seguro Belotti se convertirá en jugador del Chelsea
