CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND!!!(and Wales) WE KNOW WHO WE ARE!!!

Well....what a reward for all of us: who'd have predicted it? Possibly some did - if so well done & I hope you had a wager on it!

I expect most of us would have been chuffed with top 4 but, and after last year, what a magnificent comeback - and to actually win it in such imperious, unremitting style.

I recall much earlier in the season - I think in that interminable Mourinho thread - that I 'd said at one point that I didn't think we'd see a double for some years. Well....here we are...on the cusp of another. I have to say that for me its our greatest title win given all the circumstances - the comeback, back in Europe, the fact that it was done when the top 4 or 5 teams have been as strong collectively as any top 4/5 in any given year I can remember, where we were heavily outspent in respect to transfers, where our natural enemy comes a Sienese 2nd (woo hoo!) & with all with that - a debut Manager who'd, like Carlo & Jose (it must be said), never managed in this country before. I guess we've all had plenty of messages/emails from supporters of other clubs - all of the messages I've received have invariably contained 'fully deserved' or some variance on that theme. Not one proviso or rider (and in some cases I'm talking about blokes who are, shall we say, are not 'fond' of chels) in any of those messages received. And it must be said - we are now the standard bearer in the EPL over the last decade or so. Every other club knows that & are now getting used to it.....some, it must be said, are still grappling with that to ever smaller degrees.

I hope for only 3 things at present: Wembley is kind to this team, that Dorset & Chippy return to this site & that the Owner takes out the team for dinner & makes em all drink Domaine Romanee Conti (with an 'e' texted over the "i") till they vomit or fall asleep or something.

Monday morning and we are the Champions.

Just thought I would remind you of that.

Breakfast now!

Monday afternoon and we're champions still! I was coming on here to say that anyway and saw you had the same idea!

On the train down to tonight 's match, sorry party!  A little bit of beer may be consumed!

A lot of people will look at our season & point towards the 13 game winning run & highlight that as the biggest contributor to our title win and it'll be hard to argue against that especially as far as points accumulation & self-belief in the new system are concerned. However I believe the run of 10 Games & 8 wins was far more impressive in my eyes, we had huge pressure of expectation on us in addition to that a team in Spurs who were matching our run of wins & style of play. For whatever reason we were having to grind hard & score more than one to win games, we had to come back after a couple of huge blows against Palace & United yet we got up & dusted ourselves off and got on with it.

A number of supporters started to question whether we had the belief to get over the line especially after our last season when we finished 10th, we showed ability of getting knocked down but getting back up and coming back harder therefore these last 10 games proved a great deal more for me than the 13 game winning run.

So many moments to choose from.

Most surreal one was watching us score the first v Man Utd at the Bridge in October.

When I was in a New York railway station going to watch the New York Jets play.

Am American Chelsea fan was watching the game live on hos phone and amazingly was standing beside me. We celebrated together!

Italian language, makes it so powerful.

Morning fellow Champions of England 2016/17 supporters.

Just thought I would mention it.

Good decision. You just never know if people drank so much, they ruined their memory

I just want to debunk this myth of Spurs being the best side in England since Ocotber bo**ocks thats being doing the rounds by a few journo's lately.

I've crunched the numbers and come up with the below.

Since the 1st weekend of October, both sides have played 31 PL games.

Chelsea won 26 - 78 Pts
Spurs won 21 - 69 Pts

Chelsea drew 2 - 80 pts
Spurs drew 6 - 75 pts

Chelsea lost 3 - 80 pts
Spurs lost 4 - 75 pts

Chelsea have scored 70 goals
Spurs have scored 67

Chelsea have left in 23 goals
Spurs have left in 22 goals

So since October, Chelsea have won more, drawn less, lost less games than Spurs, outscored them and have left in 1 more goal giving Chelsea a superior GD of +2 over Spurs.

All in all, I can safely say, Chelsea have been the best side in the league by some distance and f**k Spurs :D

Best team during the season, think the 13 win run was crucial for the title. In 2017 our form was alright, but not like in the first half of the season. I also felt we never really hit 5th gear this season, all the wins looked so easy apart from some more difficult games. If we could manage and get the double it would be amazing, at the start of this season i hoped for a top 4 spot at best and return to Europe. Winning the title was much much more than i ever expected, also won it in style!
