Easy peasy. We let it go to extra time and penalties just to annoy Germans

believe me my In-Laws are German & they were annoyed - they suddenly hated CFC even though at the next season we had their Prodigal Son Ballack & Schurrle on our side

Not many interested in tonight's game it seems ... Not as much posts as yesterday haha !! This is a much better game imo in terms of balance though !

I've taken the opportunity to cast my vote for our POTY. What's up with the club's new website, it's horribly sluggish.

Winning the CL and pissing off in-laws: win win

but I like my In-Laws - they always provide me w/ Good German Lager & that sweet German Wine :JC_doubleup:

Bayern are missing alaba, neuer, Vidal, coman, and now robben and boateng.

Big losses for them, I think they would favourites if they had everyone fit, but real just seem to have what takes, and they have some good options on the bench.

Hopefully someone stops Liverpool, but it is starting to have that feeling of inevitability about it, or as the Scousers will say 'destiny'.

As we found out in 2012, sometimes it just feels like it's your year.

Only difference being that RM with Zidane seem to have everything going for them in the UCL. Plus, it could be destiny for them too this year as they could become the first team ever to win it 3 years in a row in the modern Era of the UCL (since 1992). Plus, Roma can still make their comeback haha :) !!! Because there's nothing like a first time !!! I think those guys will be like lions in the 2nd leg next week. This will definitely be something to watch !

as much as Liverpool have been good in the CL this season, they haven't really come up against a European heavy hitter yet - when you look at the teams on show tonight they're a different class to Roma or Porto and probably Man City too

Think the quality in the CL overall this season has been dreadful. Roma getting to the semis and being thrashed 5-2 is a sad indictment of this. no semi finalist should be beaten so soundly.

That is why RM will clinch it imo. They know how to play defensive AND a have a great keeper! They know how to win dirty. Plus, refs will do everything for them to win it !

Ribéry has like 5 great chances to score tonight  while Real has 2 but scored on both occasions

that's why they won 3 of the last 4 UCL ... And know how to defend their lives too. Plus, you'll never get a pen against them so it helps. And their keeper is on fire tonight ... Yep. They got pretty much everything to be champions. And they're also the best team in the world in counter attacks !

Real Madrid look absolutely unshakable ... They'll let you have 15 shots, 70 % possession, and they'll still fcuk you up on counter attacks !!! At some pint in our history, I believe we missed that shift and could have been like them (btw 2004 and 2010) ...

Not sure that's a good thing. Zidane stays in charge and hazard could decide to leave.

Absolutely. But how can you blame him then ? I mean, if we had played better this season, we would have been able to keep him !

RM are still untouchable imo. Often underrated as favorites (not as a team in general of course), but when t hey win things, they win them big fcuking time ! And it looks like they'll fancy another win this season. Unless Salah sees otherwise ! Or Dzeko :wink:

RM played like a team who have had a disappointing domestic season, languish 15 points behind their major rivals and for whom only winning the CL can make the season offer anything positive.

No wonder they won it like that 10 times then haha !! they're pretty much used to it by now haha ! They never really win the UCL in an impressive fashion nor dramatic fashion either (safe 2014 or 2016 for recent examplles), but it's in their fricking DNA. The UCL is RM's territory. Do whatever you want against them, you'll never be able to comeback against them!! Nor prevent them from breaking big records, unless your team is twice as much better in terms of talent than them. They just know how to win UCL.
