Just read a layman's breakdown of the rules, not sure when this rule applied but it seems there is absolutely no way to qualify when you come 5th..

If the dippers win the CL while being in top 4 then the extra place goes to a Czech team. In that case if we come 4th at the expense of the Spuds, and Arse win the Europa we still get a spot.

But the more likely thing to happen at the minute is us getting top 4 at the expense of Liverpool, then if they both win their Euro cups then we're f**ked, unless we pull off a 3rd place finish.

In the most realistic cases we have to make 4th and hope they don't both win the cups.

Plus le arse will get beaten at Atlético (hopefully) so there would be no stress ;)

He’s got that great run of wins in the EL with Sevilla too. Could come in handy for us next season.

Yep, it's a defeatist attitude, but i gave up after the Tottenham defeat. We had an unbeaten record to maintain and needed a win to get a top 4 spot.......if they couldn't raise their game for that then what situation do they need to be in to get them to raise their game? We aren't playing well, we aren't keeping clean sheets, our rivals are still doing well enough. It's more likely that we will drop more points than they will before the season ends. It's going to need some shock results to go our way for us to get top 4. With the way the season has gone and the Premier League being so boring, i don't see t happening this season.

I would be very happy to be proven wrong about this.

Emery... I dunno, look at how he did at PSG ... 2 last 16 eliminations in the UCL with PSG in a farmer league. Lost the title in his first year there. Again, might have something to do with PSG themselves rather than the coach, i.e, PSG have no direction in terms of instiution, project etc ... they just buy big and that's it ! No tactics, No combativity ... they solely rely on talent ! I won't be surprised if they spend 856 million € this summer to overhaul their whole team !!

Still 0-0 at Anfield. Shawcross had a great oppurtunity to score in the 87th minute.

Win our last four league games and were in the CL, no matter what Liverpool do against Brighton.

Scrub that, just seen they still have advantage with goal difference, 

Stoke could have nicked it with shawcross

Damn they really needed to lose this one but it's still possible for us if we beat them and they don't win their last game. Basically a 5 game no win streak to end their season, who would've thought that was on the cards?

Yes but they are far ahead on goal difference so as long as they win their last game we won't overtake them. They got what they needed today.
