The crazy thing with Salah is nobody could predict that we loan him out to Fiorentina, then Roma, then we sell him to Roma then Liverpool buy him and he tears the league up. His goal stats were decent, but nothing compared to this season. I still feel like he's having a once in a lifetime season and he'll go back to being mediocre next season. It doesn't make sense that he didn't even reach 30 goals in 65 apps for Roma, yet comes back to England and has a crazy season. Something weird is going on. I suspect PEDS.

Looking back, after his first season with Roma, he probably should have been bought back to the club, especially after the season we had just had. He was performing better that season than any player we had at the club.

If we had a player from the academy out on loan playing for a Serie A team, scoring 15 goals and getting 6 assists, i have no doubts that the fans would be begging the club to bring him back. The fans would have been furious if we sold one of our own.

Just look at the reaction to Loftus-Cheek now. Fans want him back, even when he has only played half a season, scored one goal and has 3 assists. Salah had plenty of goals and plenty of assists. If that was Hudson-Odoi, we would be demanding his return and for him to be promoted to the first team as a regular starter.

Due to the short-termism at the club our managers can't afford to work with anything less than the finished article. There's just no time to develop a player, for the managers the risks far ourweigh the benefits.

Fail to produce for 1 season and you get the ax. That's how it's been for over a decade now. And even the fans have become accostomed to this. How many of us call for a managers or players head when they hit a blip? It just seems to be in the clubs DNA nowadays. If we want this to stop happening, we're going to have to give players a chance. With this will come some failures of course, but had we started doing this earlier, our current team would include Salah, de Bruyne and possibly Lukaku. Would we have been better off? Would we have won the 2 league titles? Who knows. But the way the club is being run right now, we can't expect to have young unproven players like Salah and de Bruyne breaking through.

Hope the bloke recovers but there are pictures of Liverpool fans walking about with hammers yet no mention of this in the media. Both teams as scummy as each other.

I agree. Two sets of thuggish fans looking for a fight......it's hardly a surprise when somebody ends up in hospital. If the bloke is an innocent fan just looking to go home after watching his team play a game of football, then i feel sorry for him, but if he was part of the mob and looking for fight, then i will feel a lot less sorry for him. If you go out looking for a fight, then it's your own fault if you end up in hospital. Both Liverpool and Roma fans have been causing trouble in European games for a long time now.

I would not be surprised if no action is taken against Liverpool or Roma. Not being vindictive, but with Liverpool's past violent European history, coupled with what just went on against Man City in the last round, Liverpool deserve to be punished and punished severely.

One can hope for a nice 5 year European ban starting on May 25th 2018

as much as Liverpool have been good in the CL this season, they haven't really come up against a European heavy hitter yet - when you look at the teams on show tonight they're a different class to Roma or Porto and probably Man City too

I agree. It was like United in 2010/2011, they reached the final but played absolutely guff teams to get there and then got dominated in a final they were lucky to lose 3-1 in, should've been about 8-0 Barcelona.

The only good team they played against was us in the Quarter Finals and we were utter sh*t. Liverpool have only played against City who they already exposed earlier in the season, and they got a lot of lucky fortunate decisions their way over both legs. Didn't they get beat by United not that long ago also? They certainly aren't that good, I think either Madrid/Bayern beats them. I mean it is a final and anything can happen but I think Liverpool will be in for a rude awakening when they get to the final.

BTW, if Roma do not comeback, I see Bayern or RM winning it. Actually, if Roma dont pull off a miracle next wednesday, I can see RM winning it for the 34th time or whatever and the 3rd time in a row! Zidane knows his sh*t. Hoping he'll be the next France's gaffer :JC_doubleup:

I still can't believe how we managed to win the UCL against Bayern in 2012 iin their turf !!! This was just unbelievable !!!!!

A team full of leaders and determined to give their all did it my friend.......Thats why in the past when a manager came in, we could pull off something.....we dont have that anymore.

it was written in the stars

TBH I felt the same way in 2012 - I believe the other side in the semis were RM & I thought it would have been better to play them at the Alliaz - in the end we win & the rest is History

Easy peasy. We let it go to extra time and penalties just to annoy Germans
