Despite Morata missing the 1v1's I haven't seen anyone highlighting the fact that Big Pete is still one of the best keepers in the league, and at least the final Morata chance was more a really good save than a dire miss.  And there was also a double save earlier which I thought was outstanding.

So, it's not all about a sh*t striker, sometimes you just have to give credit to a really good goal-keeper, playing at his best.

I somewhat agree in terms of Cech and his abilities as a keeper, but with the 1v1's last night Morata should have buried at least one of them, probably the first one.

Glad I didn't come on here last night - looks like a lot of "heat of the moment comments"!!

Sure, it is always gutting to lose a lead so late but to be honest, a draw was probably a fair result. We dominated i parts and yes, Morata should have scored 1,2,3...........but they caused us a lot of problems too and we both had our fair share of luck.

Very enjoyable game, that of course would have been more enjoyable had we not conceded the late equaliser, but it's what the PL is all about. Both sides had players who played very well and some who didn't - think most of ours were good bar Morata and Moses but hey-ho, decent performance and we live to fight another day.

People have to realise that this kind of game happens all the time after xmas, the fixture pile up at the end of December often sees crazy games with loads of chances as teams are knackered. Some of the tosh written in this and most other match threads is just embarrassing though.

True, but not the last, that was all down to great keeping.

Still, Batshuayi would have scored them all, eh?  At least that's what some people appear to be saying.

Batshuayi would have either been offside or behind the play, he wouldnt have even been in that position to get 1 v 1.

In short, this game kind of sums up our season so far. We're not bad, but not quite good enough either. We're not as clinical in front of goal as we were last season, and although our defence has looked slightly more assured recently, we concede too many silly goals.

In the end, a draw was the fair result. It's quite frustrating how we've not been able to beat Arsenal recently given, generally, how poor they are.

Morata had a terrible game, and his confidence looked knocked after missing the first sitter. It's a worry, but I think he's shown enough this season not to be written off entirely. He's still one of the best strikers in the league, probably only behind Aguero and Kane. IMO - a bad night at the office, rather than a bad player. What it does highlight, once more, is the need for quality back up in our squad. Relying on one striker to play the key games, at all times (when fit), in their first season, is a big ask.

For me, what's more worrying is how Bakayoko keeps getting picked ahead of Drinkwater. He looks completely out of his depth.

Good point made. Butland is also an outstanding keeper in a poor side.

Nah, he hit it straight at him, Cech never moved. But Cech is still class, and Tibo was sublime last night.

Big Pete didn't need to move because he is just so good that he knew exactly where to stand.  So arse!

And he knew exactly where to punch the ball to so that Zappacosta could only ever hit the bar, not score.

All the chances and dangerous moments. Good little highlights video.

Btw...

Notice how the commentator reacts to Arsenal's goals compared to Chelsea.

I've noticed it before. This guy can't stop his bias showing.

Even shouting, Yes! For their equaliser.

While barely gets his voice raised for the fantastic finish by Alonso to make it 2-1.

Let me guess... is it Sky sports or BBC again ?

He must have exhausted all his penalty saving ability on 19/05/12. He was good last night as was Courtois  but Morata should have buried at least one of the chances.

That's unbelievable ha ha, not a single person said anything to him. How pathetic

Similar thing happened with us at Liverpool 1998 . 5 of us ended up in with the scouseres in the Anfield red end. Casiraghi scored and we all jumped up as you do. There must have been about 50 of us in with the kloppites & not a word was said.

We ended up getting to a Sunderland game in amongst their fans,  they weren't impressed when we celebrated cuducini saving a penalty right at the end ,  there were definitely words said..... And more.

One thing i will say about Morata, at least he got into the right positions, he could have gone completely absent and got no chances. His finishing was dreadful though. I would have got 1 or 2 from those chances, and im crap..

I thought this at first. Better to miss chances than to not have any chances. But then i thought that actually two of the balls were straight down the middle of their defence.

These weren't masterfull runs or a bit of trickery. On two ocassions deep passes from us cut them apart and Morata was clean through.  In reality a better defence probably would have mopped these passes up. I was surprised as anyone when the passes were made and their defence disappeared.

But more worrying than any of this was the excellent Alonso goal. In scoring this goal Alonso has the foresight to make a darting run to the front post to meet the ball and use the ball's speed to beat the keeper. In doing this Alonso actually runs past our static, caught on his heels, striker who didn't seem to even see the run that was available to him.

Looking back at those one on one's again you can see in both he has no confidence. Zappacosta hit a cracking shot at the end, that would have been a great ending.

The first one... He could have rounded Cech to the left with a simple feint, surely.

He had so much time for these chances... It's shocking. I've honestly never seen anything like it from a striker at a top club. Presented with one on ones with that much time all in one game and failing so poorly with all of them.

It is worrying. I'd like to think not but If he continues to be played and continues to flop on these easy chances... Could have a nightmare situation.

Don't worry Andy Carrol is coming.
